Wardwell Home for the Aging, also known as The Wardwell, offers congregate housing services for retired men and women. The housing facility has 16 units. All apartments have private baths with tubs and showers. Each unit has wall-to-wall carpeting, hardwood floors and draperies. Telephone and cable television hookups are available in each unit. Every apartment has an emergency call system. There is a modern elevator with ground-level access. Meals, staff assistance and cultural and social opportunities are also offered. The Wardwell was incorporated in Maine in 1878 and began offering services in 1889. They employ 15 people. Ms. Veronica M.
