I called and spoke to ******************* owner of Benson Brook ************* Services in ************ ***** on 3-25-2024 as my dog was at end of life, euthanasia was in the near future and wanted to let him know I would be using his services soon. While on the phone with him he seemed to be empathetic and understanding. I called the next day, told him my dog had passed and would be bringing him in. When I arrived I was met by **** and his 3 huge dogs. He opened the side garage door, put a make shift wood table in front of the back seat where my dead dog lay, I went to the other side just before I almost stepped in his dog c*** which littered his property, to push as he pulled my dog on the table. One of his dogs (all of which swarmed around my car) tried to get into my back seat during this process. Once my dog was on the table he pushed it/him into the building. As I was standing there in my most sad and heartbreaking moment, the last time I would ever see my best friend, one of his dogs bite his ear as he lay dead on the table. I was horrified! **** didn't seem to think much of it. His dogs stayed around the table the whole time sniffing my boy. I pet my dog, told him I loved and would miss him. His building was a filthy hoarding situation. **** told me to pick him up next day, which he never mentioned on the phone. I told him I couldn't leave him there and I would wait. If losing my dog wasn't traumatic enough, the experience I had added to my trauma. I had a nightmare that evening that ****'s dogs ripped my dead dog apart leaving his body parts scattered all over. **** is exceptionally unprofessional, his conduct with having his dogs around this most sensitive time for me was sickening, unacceptable, unforgivable and very bad business. It's something I unfortunately will never forget. Saying goodbye to a much loved pet is hard enough, but to have to endure this level of indecency, lack of consideration and conscience is forever harmful. Bring your pet somewhere else!!!

I just left a review a few minutes ago on this business and owner Gary Smith and unfortunately, forgot to add another very disturbing piece of information from my experience there on 3-26-2024. If everything I mentioned in my first review was not bad enough, after Gary fired up the oven to start the cremation process of my dog, we went into the front room, standing 3 feet away from each other, I could smell Gary's booze ridden breath as I wore a 4 layer high barrier medical grade mask. How dare him! He is as unprofessional and disgraceful as they get. Read my last review to learn of my experience at Benson Brook Pet Cremation. Just one more thing I'd like to add, this experience should have been as calming and sensitive to my loss as possible, which was the complete opposite. It should have been about me and my dog not Gary and his dogs. He should never bring his multiple, very large untrained dogs around as myself and others are having their last moment with their pets. He has all day to take his dogs out but constantly chooses to bring them around during this most sensitive and traumatic event for others. The fact he was reeking of booze during this time while on the clock, running this type of business is shocking.

Our beloved girl passed a couple years ago. It was on a weekend so we called and found this guy. He was very friendly. However we asked him to do a paw print impression in **** as we didn't have the stuff to *************. He said all he had was like terracotta **** and we said that was ok. Next day we went to pick our girl up. Noticed no paw print. Asked him and he said the guy before us who was picking up cat remains must have grabbed it. Well a 60lbs dog and a cat have way different kinds and sizes of paws. Days later we were still calling and asking he said the guy wouldn't call him back. I find that hard to believe. I really think it slipped his mind and he was looking to blame someone else. The **** thing broke my heart as at that point there was no paw to get an impression with. Honesty goes a long ways in the world. I'm not about shaming his business as he was kind just the hole thing with the paw print if that's what really happened it was his job to make sure he was giving the correct animal remains to each person if he forgot that's not wonderful either. He has beautiful dogs, and is a very kind man. Just wish things had gone differently as that's not something little that happened.
