      Modern pest control took over from Echo choice, they have been doing a terrible job. I have 2 properties with them one property the technician went into tenants apartments without consent, they filed a complaint with us. But the main reason for this complaint:1. There is currently a service at one of the address that has not been completed they are still charging for that service that was never done 2. There are services they claim the did but never showed up they still charged 3. One service the technician claim he came and the tenant wouldn't let him in it was a blatant lie because we did not see him on the camera and the tenants confirmed no one showed up. This company continues to call and threaten legal action we have told them to go ahead and stop harassing us. We have multiple VM from different numbers, multiple emails from multiple email addresses. This company should be cited by the attorney general for charging for services that they did not deliver. This is not calls from a debt collector but from a belligerent stalker. WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF YOU. Every one is HARTFORD is being made aware of how terrible of a company your are. We suggest you return to where it is you came from. The mediocre service you cant even deliver consistently is not welcomed here.

      Hello- I need to report Modern Pests of ********* ************. I contracted them to service 2 of my rental buildings (10 units). They lie about coming out to service. I have been paying them over $1000 a month for a year and they did not come out one single time. They are trying to send me to collections because I have stopped paying, but for an entire year when I asked them to provide services they lied and said they went out. I check the cameras at the properties and they never went. I was to be released from the remainder of the contract and released from any remaining owed amount.

      Numerous calls unanswered or not returned timely. Concerns not taken into account. Technician entering apartments with no occupants home. Questions in whether services were completed at times? Tenants did not see exterminators. Problem getting worse with 5-6 months of supposedly being serviced!

      Records indicate we reached to client and left voicemails numerous times. Client has since terminated service. Conversation between client and Modern ************ Manager *********************** is as follows:

      CLIENT TEXTED BACK IN AS HE WAS WORKING AND UNABLE TO TALK. SEE MESSAGES BELOW:

      SM: Yes. I tried calling you regarding your property in Lewiston. I can have an SP there Friday to address the 3rd floor unit.
      Client: Sorry at work easier to trxt.
      SM: No worries. Can we get in on Friday to go through unit 3?
      Client: We hired another company because we never got back to and weren't impressed with ***** at all. Didn't seem to concerned to me. The whole building should of been sprayed from get go i thought. Plus they entered apartments with no one home. And i question whether they even went at times. Seeing my tenants rarely saw them!
      SM:That's unfortunate. I know nothing of all of this. Hard to text about verses talking.

      Unfortunately we have an 12 month agreement with you. I'd much rather have had the chance to address your concerns. I'll have ***** reach out regarding your request to cancel as there is an early termination fee associated with cancelation of the agreement before the terms have been met. Stand by.
      Client:I just don't feel like we were taken care of. Actually a lot of the online negative reviews of your company are spot on! Just an fyi.Sorry it didn't work out. You can bill me all you want. I will request a refund thriugh bbb. Dont have ***** call me sorry but he's useless pretty much reason we are all set!
      SM: Sorry you feel that way. I wish you'd have reached out sooner as I may have been able to address this for you before you hired someone else. You had the ability to set up callback services if there were issues etc. I will term as you wish.

      ******* provided does not match notes on invoice . I understand that the previous exterminator known as Bug Beaters submitted all previous customer documentation to ********************** . The notes clearly indicate spraying for ticks, ground wasps/bees and a complete lawn spraying. Although a partial spraying was done , clearly all invoice and notes submitted by the previous exterminator were not followed. Due to homeowner being blind, the spraying for ticks, bees and ground wasps is essential. I would simply just like the company to follow through with what was previously done.

      *********************** was contacted by Modern ************ Manager ***********************. ***** was a client of a company that Modern acquired. ***** wanted the service performed exactly as the previous company performed it. ***** explained that the terms of the new service agreement were different from the previous company, and Modern's licensing did not allow us to treat identically to the previous company. ***** offered ***** options that would upgrade his service to include what we wanted. ***** said if it wasn't done the same way, he would terminate services. When Modern could not accommodate, ***** refused to pay for the service he already received, asked to cancel future services, and hung up on *****. ***** is no longer a Modern client.

      Buyer beware!!! This company has been charging a monthly fee for services that they are falsely reporting as being completed. About 7 years ago I began termite control with Guaranty Pest elimination. They were bought out by Modern Pest services and that's when the trouble began. For $30.00/month or $360/year I pay for this 'service'. Which should include checking all the bait traps around the house, visually inspecting for termites etc. Recently I was provided with an invoice saying: " During today's service, I was able to inspect the termite stations around the home for activity. Upon inspection, no new feeding activity was found at this time of service. I was able to go around the home and knock down spider webbing with a web duster.Furthermore, I was able to apply a liquid application to the exterior of the home as a preventative against over-wintering pests. Thank you for choosing Modern Pest Services and have a great day." Thankfully I have cameras all around the property this year and when I checked, none of this, except dusting off a few cobwebs from the garage actually happened! They never even stepped foot in my back yard. This happened before where I noticed that none of the bait traps were looked at but they reassured me that they were. I've been suspecting that this company has been ripping me off and now I have proof. After multiple calls to management I finally got through to the territory manager who offered to refund me $30 and they would send out a different person. I told him multiple times I just want to cancel. I've been scammed and I don't want anyone else coming to my house. Who knows how many other people they do this to and get away with it. :(

      I have been using Modern Pest Services *************) to use ORGANIC only products to treat my property for mosquitos. Every time they come for service I have been fortunate to intercept treatment to ensure organic product was used. Even though my contract with them explicitly says organic. I have filed numerous complaints with this company and believed it to be resolved. On Friday, June 3, treatment was applied and the product used was Demand CS Insecticide. The organic product that should be used is Essentria IC3. My concern, and I have made this clear to this company, that on my property we only use organic products due to our animals, well, vegetable gardens and many species of wildlife. Unfortunately this can not be undone. This company does not hire qualified personnel who are trained to read the forms and do the job requested by the customer. The form sent to me explicitly says organic on the form. The tech ignored this and applied pesticide. Something needs to be done about this. A customer should not have to follow up each month before service every month. As a customer, we assume that a tech can read read the report that clearly states the product to be used. A Very Dissatisfied Customer.

      Our General Manger for this area spoke with the client and provided the following feedback. Based on my conversation with *** it does seem like the technician applied synthetic materials. *** is familiar with the smell of organic products and she said when she came home that day there was no odor. In response to her complaint, we have locked Debs preferred technician to the account and excluded the tech that made the last application per her request, credited her June and ************* and provided a free C/B to retreat later on this month. *** was satisfied with the resolution.

      We hired Modern Pest Control in 2019 for pest control. We pay ***** each month. They do an exterior visit quarterly and refill bait stations. I was assured that a technician would come to my residence upon request at anytime, should I suspect pest activity. My complaint is that when I see rodent or other pest issues in between the quarterly visits activity , I am told that a technician will come out, but it will take 3 weeks on one occasion and 6 weeks on another occasion. This is completely unacceptable when I am seeing dead rodents in my house. I am frustrated because we pay each and every month and CAN NOT get service when needed. I would like service to be fulfilled as promised .

      We have followed up with this client and apologized for the delays in service that she has experienced this summer. We did receive a call from her recently requesting additional service which she was originally told would be several weeks for us to be able to respond to. When we became aware of this concern we immediately made other arrangements to be able to provide service to her in a more timely manner. She is scheduled to have service provided tomorrow.

      I believe that she is now satisfied with the resolution to her current concern and again we apologize for the delay she experienced previously.

      Purchased a house that had not been occupied for several months so we wanted a pest control to come in and spray due. I found the price to be much higher than the previous company but was assured they come out all the time and keep up with the locations. I also recall asking if this was a cancel at anytime and the rep on the phone stated cancel at anytime yes but more beneficial to keep the service because if we needed them it would be included in the charge to come back out... I have expressed several times my disapproval of how they handled everything.. I think I have been scammed and refuse to do business with this company.

      While we disagree with this clients perception of being scammed. Based on a lengthy recorded phone call  when they initially called in regarding setting up service and an agreement that they signed authorizing the service and associated fees which spells out the terms of the agreement. 

      Regardless of this we will not try to hold this client to the terms of the signed agreement and have agreed to terminate the service and issue a refund as requested.

      The account will be marked to indicate to have no further contact as requested.

      I had originally taken out a contract with Modern Pest Control. They were to come out to the house and inspect and detect areas that needed to be addressed for the mouse problem I was having. They were to be placing copper mesh and traps. There were no per say traps and the copper was to be seen. I had to pay the intial up front cost of $300 dollars and the contract was for $42.50 a month for what service I do not know. I had in the past 4 months the same problem of mice in my kitchen running down my hallway along with mouse droppings. I called and was treated rudly by customer service, given appts 3-4 weeks out, by that time I had a colony of mice. I had no shows after my husband rearranged his work schedule, cancellations with no notice. I decided to cancel my contract of which I was charged $199. I am confused what the monthly service was for??? In my opinion they broke the contract by not upholding their end and providing a service that I paid for.

      We regret that the experience this client had was less than satisfactory. We strive to provide prompt, effective services which unfortunately was not what this client received. Like many businesses we have had some staffing challenges that had negatively impacted our ability to service our clients in as timely a manner as we would like to do so. In keeping with our core values of doing the right thing we have agreed to cancel the service agreement at no charge and to provide a full refund for all $ paid.
