In September of 2022, we contracted with Summit Exteriors, LLC to resheath and reside our house and attached garage. Work began on 11/26/22 and was completed on 1/18/23. We paid $49,025 for the job. On April 25, 2023 a 6-foot section of shingles fell off the front of the building. It had not been attached per specifications, i.e., it had been caulked in place rather than nailed. On May 8, a second 6-foot section of shingles fell off the front of the building. This section also had been installed improperly, without nails. We contacted Summit about the problem and requested repairs for the first time on April 26 (by email), then on May 4 (by text) and again on May 10 (by phone). We communicated with the office manager on all three occasions and have been told repeatedly that the installer who had done the work, or someone else from the company, would be reaching out asap to schedule a time to "get this fixed." As of May 26, we have heard nothing further from anyone connected with Summit Exteriors. Apparently, the employee who had been our contact during the project is no longer on staff. We don't feel we are getting anywhere with this company and would like the BBB to intervene on our behalf.
