Went early to shop to have oil change. Gentlemen at front desk (I believe is owner) said we are busy & behind comeback @3:30pm. We returned to drop off vehicle (never ever came for oil change & free tire rotation to drop off vehicle priorhave always waited there with husband & my service dog in training). Prior two/three times oil changes have all gone smooth and without issues. Based on that is the reason I dropped off vehicle. He said your vehicle will be ready when you return @ a4pm. When we were pulling into parking lot vehicle was not parking in handicapped parking spot where I put it when I dropped it offso we presumed it was completed. I went into store; gentleman said my vehicle was ready, so I paid and went to my husband vehicle grabbed my backpack put me and my stuff into my newly serviced vehicle. As I began to get in and quickly noticed the volume of the radio was so loud it almost blew out my entire speaks plus damages (not there when vehicle was dropped off) ripped/cut in leather front arm rest, knob on gear shift was NOW STRIPPED twisted beyond stop point (AGAIN NOT LIKE THIS WHEN VEHICLE WAS DROPPED OFF) and items above front sun visors are disheveled (was not like this when I dropped it off). Then on our way home we stopped to walk my dog at a favorite spot just at the end of our street where I had my husband look under vehicle & showed him the mess plus damages caused while in the possession of Midas Shop Eldersburg Md today. The next morning I had my husband and I look more thoroughly through my personal vehicle & belongs I keep in arm rest, above visors, & in glove box only to find money I keep hidden incase of breakdown I always have enough to pay tow truck/rollbackAGAIN NOW MISSING (but was in vehicle when vehicle was dropped off for servicing(not disc!overed until after I already sent email to Midas Corporate on 3rd April, 2022 @ approx 11:45am. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO BE SUBJECT TO THIS TREATMENT BY ANY SERVICE SHOP !!!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 19, 2022/10/27) */ Complaint ID#: XXXXXXXX External Inbox Verizon mail. <*********@verizon.***> 11:26 AM (40 minutes ago) to me On 04/02/2022 the customers came to drop off their car for a routine oil change. When we finished the other customers cars ahead of it, we pull in this customers car. The technician grabbed a disposable floor mat which is done to ensure no unnecessary footprints are left on floor mats and to keep them clean. Next the technician pulled the vehicle in, performed the oil change and other routine maintenance, then proceed to pull the vehicle out and park in the closest available parking spot. He exits the vehicle taking the disposable floor mat and locks the doors. At no point is the radio or anything else to be disturbed except to turn off the radio if the volume is excessive. The technician will not touch the sun visors unless they are in the down position and hinder his view to pull the vehicle into the shop safely. Nothing else is to be disturbed and was not disturbed. Two persons were present on the date in question. the owner/manager of the shop and technician who has been working at this shop for over 5 years and at others for 9 years with no other complaints. There is no way that our shop is responsible for any disheveled or missing items or money. It's just not possible that our technician moved or took anything. As for the torn arm rest we wear uniforms that have soft buttons or no buttons, have special belts for our waists with no metal hardware and take care not to carry sharp items on our person so that we don't scratch dent or tear any parts of our customers vehicles. If any damage was present under the vehicle, again, it was not from this shop. We pull the vehicles into our bays from the parking lot, lift them carefully checking to make sure no damage is done, then upon completion clean any oil that may have splashed onto the undercarriage and drop the car after filling the oil and checking any other parts of the vehicle that we routinely do such as tires, brake pads and rotors and any important hardware. Then we back the car out, park and lock it. The technician drives the car a maximum of 100 yards in a flat parking lot. Nowhere to damage the undercarriage. I believe and this shop believes that any damage, missing items and the level of messiness of the car has nothing to do with this shop, and that Midas of Eldersburg is not liable for any damages or losses claimed by this customer, This Midas has been open and run by the same gentleman for over 25 years and sure there have been complaints, but legitimate claims and all have been handled properly. Also, if said damage was done by this shop why did the customer not come back or call our shop right away? We take pride in helping our customers and keeping them safe and happy. Our shop should have been notified immediately of these claims by the customer. Instead, we are hearing about it six plus months later from the BBB. Why wait so long to file a claim? This claim was filed with the BBB on 09/27/2022. That is 176 days after the alleged damage and thievery took place. If these claims were legitimate our store would cover any damage costs, but they are not. Furthermore, Midas of Eldersburg maintains that these claims are false, and any damage, mess, excessive volume, torn armrests, missing items or money took place on the customers watch and we are not to be held responsible. Thank you for your time Scott ***, ************* Midas of Eldersburg
