      My dental coverage covers fluoride treatments 100% but everytime I get a cleaning they tell me that it's not covered and if I want the fluoride I need to pay $18. I was told by Tidewater to contact my insurance provider about the coverage and this dispute so I did just that and had a rep from CareFirst call Tidewater Dental to tell them that "YES my fluoride is covered" the office person at Tidewater would not look into the error and told the rep they have over 8,000 patients and don't have the time to figure it out and that I will owe the money, they can't change anything because they use a third party billing!!! SERIOUSLY!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND Tidewater!!! All they care about is money and not the patients.

      Myself and my children have been going to Tidewater in Lexington Park for close to 10 years. In the last year and a half I’ve had so many billing issues I have decided to pull my records and go elsewhere. I’m on the verge of pulling my children’s records as well. I had a few cavities filled and paid the estimated bill the same day, only to get another bill a few months later doubling the cost. I called, asked about it and was ignored and they never returned any phone calls. I finally had to show up to the office and had a meeting an hour long with billing only to end up having to pay the balance because it has been months and they couldn’t do anything at that point. Now my children’s account i received a bill for sealants for $193 that wasn’t even discussed they just put them on the teeth and sent a bill. The office is saying they should be 100% covered but I still have a balance of $193. My hour long meeting was over a month ago to try and resolve these issues and still no phone calls. I called today and of course the billing manager isn’t in and they have no resolution. Getting ready to lose 2 more customers

      I would like to warn any potential patient to find another dental practice other then Tidewater Dental. I was a patient of a Dentist for 10+ years, That Dr. retired and Tidewater Dental bought his practice, he worked with them in the office for the last two years before he retired in March of 2019. Today after waiting for 4 weeks for a dental cleaning appointment. I arrived for my 7am appointment to be told my dental benefits were inactive. I have had the same insurance for 7 years. I have had the same employer with those benefits for over 7 years. The office stated they had the same number but they can not find me in the insurance system. Why was I still waiting to be seen while they figured out their problem. This office has automated systems to confirm your appointment multiple times, texts, email and phone calls starting from when you schedule almost daily until the day before, but the staff cant verify your insurance? Then to top things off, They told me not to be negative in their office when I stated that they were not trying to help me and coming back at 11 would not work as I have to travel over an hour to work hence the 7am appointment. Then the Office Manager asked me to leave, I told them I would leave but I would not be back to their practice and I was contacting the BBB.. Stay away they are not professional and should not profit from this type of service. Why didn't they treat me with respect as a long term patient they can see my account is zero and they would be paid.. They disrespected me, made me feel that I was someone trying to get free services or scam them. They are more concerned with money than with patient care and after reading these other reviews I know I am not alone in that thought. Beware stay away!
