Alleycat Towing is a predatory company that uses confusing signage and absurd rules to justify preying on low income households. They've towed people multiple times from marked visitors spots even with the correct tag using the grass in the parking spot as justification. They are threatening me with towing currently because of a flat tire while I am parked in a parking space reserved for and paid for by me based on an unfair and unequitable parking lot rule that punishes low income residents inequitably. This behaviour puts undue stress and harm on low income families and should not be allowed.Business response

Good evening, upon attempting to reach out to ************; to listen and address her concerns regarding our company. ************ failed to contact me back. So I will move forward and address her concerns, through the BBB. First of all, although there are many "predatory" companies throughout the world; AlleyCat Towing being in business over 23 yrs is not one of those companies. Were not perfect, but were not and never have been predator's either. Secondly, **************** community is governed by an home owners association (HOA). Which means, her community makes, votes and enforce the rules; not the county nor state like in most towing cases. AlleyCat Towing has contracted with the said community for over 10yrs and we are contracted to enforce the parking laws effectively. Third, **************** community is permit based parking only, which means the entire community needs to display a valid parking permit in their vehicles at all times. This includes guest and visitors as well. Regardless if a resident pays for parking or not, a permit needs to be displayed. Fourth, according to the parking rules of the community; any vehicles that has a flat tire, expired or missing licence plates, busted window, inoperable or abandoned etc. will be warning tagged to be towed within 48hrs if the infraction isn't corrected. This is why ************ suggested that we threatened to tow her. Again, this is what the community votes on and is added to their community by-laws. We are not preying on on ************ nor any other residents of the community. We are simply enforcing the rules the community has set in place themselves. Fifth, the grass in the parking spot ************ is speaking of, is false. According to **************** address, the last spot in her parking lot has an empty space which is not a parking spot beside it. Residents, mainly guest; uses that unmarked spot as an parking space which is not prohibited. So generally the outcome for parking in an unmarked space, is that person's vehicle being towed. As for the community being low income, I can not speak on that because I do not reside there. However, even in low income communities; rules and regulations are to be followed.
