I brought my car in to have the water pump replaced. When I picked my car up after the service was completed, the check engine light was on. They advised me that water got into the engine, so they changed the oil and told me to bring it back in for the next oil change and it should correct itself. I brought it in for the next oil change and the light was still on. They had amnesia about our previous conversation and said I didn't ask them to diagnose the check engine light issue so they didn't and they didn't have time to look into it that day. I emailed my service advisor requesting a quote for additional work and to arrange a time to have the check engine light diagnosed but she did not respond. When I was due for another oil change, I called to schedule that and request that they diagnose the check engine light. The woman with whom I spoke was very rude and told me I would have to pay a diagnostic fee. I asked to speak with the owner but she said he wasn't available. I emailed the owner and haven't received a response.
