Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2021/08/18) */ Civil restaurant has a policy, in relation to payments, which is stated in a contract for large parties, as well as on a per customer basis. Each guest must provide a credit/debit card for the purposes of pre-authorization and to prevent from guest "walk outs" on their tabs. On Friday, July 23, 2021, consumer provided card for preauthorization (as advised on party contract) and proceeded to leave the restaurant, with entire group of guests, after the food was served, and refused to pay. At that time, the policy of charging the entire bill for the purpose stated in the large group contract, was enforced. It is never our intention to commit fraud against anyone or cause a hardship; however this policy is stated when the reservation is made and the card is placed on file. We would like to encourage a more clear conversation and possible redemption for the inconvenience this may have caused the consumer. There is an opportunity to contact us directly, during the office hours of 11am-5pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
