I have some one in my home that doesn't belong at ***** ****** ****** ********** ******** *****. And cannot enter my home I bought and paid for. Or even receive the keys to my home.Initial Complaint

On July 17, 2023 I hired Kevin ******** to build an extension onto my existing deck, from the side of my home around to the steps on the front. He informed me that the entire job would take 3 days to complete. The job was to begin on July 31, 2023,he didn't begin until August 1st. He was finishing up other work. He set up a meeting for the first and did not show up. He called the next day on August 2nd to say that he would come later that day to collect half of the total bill to pick up the lumber for the job. Half of the job was $2,250. Kevin told me that the deck would be $4,500. The normal 1/3rd deposit for work was $1485.00. I gave him $2,000 to begin the job. On the 3rd of August Kevin assured me that the job would be completed in the 3 days that he originally guaranteed. My son's Birthday, Graduation, College Send Off was to be held at our home on the following Sunday August 6th. I was foolish to believe him. He did not show up to do work until late in the day each day and had no where near kept his word. He informed me that the HVAC would be an extra $500 to service for the job, after the fact. The HVAC had to be disconnected and reset. He told me that the disconnection would only be 48 hours. It was 9 days and a heatwave occurred that week. Unfortunately, my Aunt had a heat stroke in my home as a result. She is 87 years old. Once he began working he told me that he had not charged me enough. He said that he needed $125 extra for more wood. A few days later he said that my deck was going to be "significantly" more, $1,000. Kevin's work failed the County Inspections 3 in total. He was told on multiple visits from the Inspector (Joe) what to do in order to bring the deck up to code. Kevin asked for another $80, then$100. He was asked to make a gate, he used molded, damaged and warped wood to construct it. He is refusing to bring the deck up to code unless I pay him $1,800. I was advised by the Inspector (Joe) not to pay him until the deck passes code.
