The business posted a grand opening discount deal on ******** for $44 tattoos. I booked two tattoos. One was $44 (forearm tattoo) and the other was a little bigger and would take more time so we agreed on a price of $100 (thigh tattoo). We made the appointment and i paid on 08/17/24 $144. Due to timing we were only able to finish 1 of 2 scheduled tattoos. We then booked for 09/07/24 to proceed to the leg tattoo. Between those two dates the artist and i spoke about possible additions to the tattoo that he had already done. Totaling $45 extra which would be due on the day of service. The day of 09/06/24 i received a message from the artist **** ******* requesting i pay and tip in advance in order for him to buy the supplies. I felt uncomfortable doing this and did not pay the $45 or an additional tip due to the fact i had not received the service yet. **** then began with passive aggressive conversation and i informed him i am no longer interested in keeping the appointment as i was uncomfortable with the way i was being spoken to. I then asked to cancel any further appointments and a refund of the $100 which was paid on 08/17/24. I have been reaching out since 09/07/24 and today is now 09/12/24 for my refund and i have been ignored every single time. This place stole $100 from me and are now not responding.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/15/2024

The BBB has gotten an email response from the business down below is that response.

Tattoo deposits are non refundable industry wide it is posted in every shop and in the advertisement that ran. I did the work that was expected of my by preparing the artwork in question for the date agreed upon. She had a balance of $45 and failed to communicate with me at all until an hour or so before the appointment, at which time she stated that she didnt have the money because she didnt pick up her check because of a sick child. When I said I couldnt do that, and we MIGHT have to reschedule because I have bills to pay and cannot work for free. I didnt state anything else, and she began to degrade me and my business because I refused her service without payment and have the text messages to prove it. I also let her know I was in a car accident that greatly affected my business in the last few weeks meaning I couldnt refund her even if I wanted to at the moment and when I got back to work would let her know so we could make an arrangement. I then blocked her because of her harassing me and acting like she is entitled to something when I owe her nothing at all. If she wants, she can have the drawing I spent 8 hours on for her appointment. The amount is also incorrect. Her entire bill was $184 paid up front and non-refundable because it was a crazy promotion for quality decent sized tattoos at only $42! Which is standard for anyone running that type of promotion in my industry or any other. Her husbands work was completed, thats $84, her forearm was also completed thats $42, and her leg was not done which I gave her a deal on because she was booking four slots and accounted for the last $58. There is nothing truthful to this complaint whatsoever
