1 starWe were supposed to attend a wedding in November in ******. We were told to book our rooms by 6/15, so we did. I actually paid the entire balance and added the protection travel plan that offers credit if I cancel. Me, cancelling, is exactly how the terms are stated. A day or two later the bride and groom message everyone saying the company is tripling the price of the wedding and they would give us an update whether they'll cancel or come to an agreement. We find out that they'll cancel the wedding. Our rep ****** ***** lets us know the rooms are going to all be cancelled. They give people with NO travel insurance their money back, and here we are with the travel insurance being told they will give us credit for future use.I have been trying to communicate since the 18th with ****** and kept being told she would let us know what happens. I tried to communicate through a call which she never returned my call. Every email for the first 3 or 4 days was telling me she will let us know. Then suddenly now sending us snip shots of what the terms say that if we cancel we get credit. We are not the ones who cancelled, I purchased this coverage not to be taken advantage of. It makes zero sense that people who didn't purchase coverage get their money back, while ones who did get taken advantage of. Emailing ****** is like talking to a wall. They are not abiding by the terms and conditions at all. It also said upon cancellation, it takes one to two days to receive cancellation and that is untrue as it took at least 4 days to get a status. I need to get my entire paid balance including the travel insurance fees back to my card since I was not the one who cancelled.Review fromBrittany U

1 starTo start I planned and reserved my wedding in 2022 to be at ***************** through Destination Weddings. I then had to reschedule to Marry May of 2025.With that being said I pushed and pushed to try to continue my wedding planning process and trying to get a reply from anyone was ****.Fast Forward, I was informed February 2025 that the resort was sold to new owners. I was asked by my wedding specialist at Destination weddings if I wanted to keep my contract at the resort and I decided to Resume. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! Mind you this was THREE months before my wedding. I then had to begin the planning process ALL OVER THREE MONTHS BEFORE MY WEDDING. Getting in contact with the wedding planner at the resort now called ******************* was just as much trouble. Finally, I was put in contact with my wedding planner at the resort. Since that day the wedding planning process has been a complete nightmare for me..fighting for what I originally signed my contract for and the wedding package I has chosen. I was then told on February 21st that their beach has been ruined by hurricanes and my ceremony can no longer be on the beach (THE ENTIRE REASON I SIGNED THE CONTRACT THROUGH DESTINATION WEDDINGS AFTER TELLING MY WEDDING COORDINATOR THAT I WANTED MY DREAM WEDDING ON THE ******* AGAIN, WAS TOLD THIS THREE MONTHS BEFORE MY WEDDING!I was extremely upset and depressed about this as I reached out to my destination wedding coordinator and told her I am saddened about this and she assured me I would get something for this, and I never did. Infromation about the resort's conditions have been withheld from me which was another reason of cancelling. To say the least, I have requested all of my money to be refunded and all of my guest's money in writing formally and between Destination Weddings and Palmar, they are REFUSING to give anything back! I could go on and on, but WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AND THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE IS NOW RUINED!Destination Wedding Travel, Inc.

Destination Weddings has acknowledged and been in communication with this customer regarding this complaint. The beach at said resort has experienced beach erosion. Destination Weddings offered compensation as well as transferring all guests to another hotel in order to have the wedding on the beach. The signed group contract is within 100% penalty. We encouraged anyone who did not purchase insurance to travel. Those that did purchase insurance receive their money back or a future trip credit (based on the kind of insurance purchased) if they choose to cancel.Review fromSarina A

1 starIf I could leave zero stars I would. Destination weddings canceled my room block and told me ON Christmas Day that it was canceled. Talk about heartless. First they didnt tell me there was a book by date they just threw me into things and expected me to figure it out. Isnt your whole thing to make my life easier? Secondly, after they canceled my room block the two of my guests who had booked also had their rooms canceled and instead of fully refunding them they are trying to give them $100 credit certificate!? Like are you joking me? No give my guests who didnt even have a choice in having their rooms canceled back their money!!!! What a scam!!!! Im livid and Ive been going back and forth with them since December of 2024. ***************** to work with who will give you a migraine and make you do their job for them. Unhelpful, sketchy, and careless.Review fromRoxanna C

1 starI've been working with **** ******* at Destination Weddings, since March of 2024 for our wedding on 2/15/2025. I was completely unaware that they only coordinate the wedding part with the resort. They do not do any travel reservations for you or your guests. I should have threw in the towel at that point but did not. I continued to allow **** to help because after choosing Azul in ****** ****, paying the deposit and making payments towards the package, the resort went up for sale. While the sale was pending, none of my wedding party or guests could make any travel reservations. My actual travel agent advised that we should find another resort if possible because he wasn't sure if/when the new management of Azul would sign with funjet to start making the reservations again. I immediately had **** cancel my contract with ****, after making sure there would be no penalties. I also had her book our ceremony with a new resort and put that deposit down. Now, here I am months later, still fighting to get my money back (appx $1500) from Azul/Destination Weddings. I was told in September that I should see the refund in 45 days. I've been in constant contact with Destination Weddings to see about my refund and I'm getting absolutely no where. I'm tired, annoyed and very disappointed in Destination Weddings. I do not recommend unfortunately.Destination Wedding Travel, Inc.

1 starI've been coordinating with *******, a wedding planner from Destination Weddings, for our 10-year vow renewal. Unfortunately, due to a significant change in our circumstances, we decided to postpone our celebration from July 5, 2024, to July 5, 2025. ******* assured us that the date change would be penalty-free. Based on her advice, we informed our guests about the new date. However, a week later, ******* informed us that changing the date to 2025 would incur a $3500 penalty. By this time, some of our international guests had already cancelled their flights, facing additional costs due to rising airfares, a situation we could have avoided with accurate information from the start.I brought this issue to **** from customer support and vendor relations, expecting Destination Weddings to honor their commitment, especially since we were misinformed by their agent. **** initially seemed agreeable, acknowledging the company's responsibility. Yet, after reviewing the email exchanges, she backtracked, disregarding the travel agent's assurances. **** then cut off communication, leaving us with a new contract imposing an additional $3000 charge and stating that any circumstances, including death, would result in a $6500 loss. What was meant to be a joyous celebration of our 10-year marriage has become an incredibly stressful ordeal.Review fromDonna S

1 starI recently attended at wedding at *********** in ********** and used Destination Wedding to book my reservation at this all inclusive resorts. I booked a premium package room with 2 queen ***** as my sister and I were sharing the room to attended a family wedding.Upon arrival we were given a room with a king size bed and pullout sofa bed. The resort and the travel agency told us that our room reservation was a "request" and as a "request" it was not guaranteed. In the exact verbiage I received from ********************* of Destination Weddings "the premium pkg was guaranteed but the bedding was not."Additional, the premium package I paid for included ****** services to help me navigate nuances of ***********. After 48 hours of no responses from the ****** who was assigned to me neither ****** nor **************** acknowledged the lack of services. In fact ******'s response to me was "traveling can be difficult."Neither ***** nor ****** offered any assistance to help me utilize the premium benefits I had paid for. I should have realized this might have been a problem. Many of the emails I sent when making travel arrangements went unanswered and any request I made to have a phone conversation were dismissed. In short I would never, ever use this company in the ********** is impossible to speak with anyone...a major cue..they are not at all responsive. The fact that they consider a room reservation a "request" that does not need to be honored is beyond ethical.Destination Wedding Travel, Inc.

1 starAbsolutely the worst experience for my wedding. Our coordinator was ******************* and she could not get anything correct, was not responsive and did nothing but create problems for our wedding. Avoid this agency at all costs. List of all problems below:- Could not get a shuttle correct. Our families were staying at a separate hotel from the wedding venue for 3 days prior to the event and needed a shuttle. They were supposed to schedule a shuttle from one hotel to the other and got the date wrong, the beginning hotel and end hotel wrong and the people. It took ***** 4 tries to get the shuttles corrected - Booked the wrong rooms for multiple families. We had 5 rooms that were supposed to be booked in 2 bed rooms given there were 2+ people and ***** booked all king rooms for entire wedding party. The hotel had run out of 2 bed rooms and people were forced to pay more money and upgrade because ***** didnt book the rooms correctly - Booked all rooms under the wrong name. She flipped the first and last name for multiple family reservations. People couldnt check in because their names 1) werent found in the system and 2) didnt match passports - Lied to guests and told them they HAD to book through destination weddings for our wedding and told them they would get reward points. THIS IS NOT TRUE. You do not have to book through the agency unless you are trying to meet the quota for cash back. You also DO NOT get the Hyatt rewards point (at least for ******************* where our wedding was) if you book through Destination Weddings - Impossible to get a hold of ***** for emergencies. Does not pick up the phone and the generic Destination Weddings phone line takes you to an automated message that just tells you to leave a message. On the day before my wedding when all my guests were checking in, we found out all her booking mistakes and she didnt answer the phone or email a single time. She solved 0 of the issues she createdReview fromAllyson W

1 starAs the Maid of Honor at a recent destination wedding, I must express my disappointment with Destination Wedding Travel, Inc. This experience was marred by incompetence, leading to financial and logistical issues. The agency's primary failure was mishandling our reservation, resulting in an unexpected $2,000 charge at the resort for essential wedding areas. This was a critical oversight. Additionally, the agency's promises of airline priority proved empty, as my baggage was lost, and there was no effort to assist or resolve this issue.Transportation arrangements were equally bungled, taking us to the wrong airport terminal and adding to our costs. Our travel agent's response to these issues was alarming. She lacked basic comprehension and professionalism, showing bewilderment instead of offering solutions when faced with the lost baggage and extra charges. Her shock at the suggestion of being helpful highlighted the agency's inefficacy. It's hard to understand the value of a travel agency that fails to provide basic services, especially when these can be easily managed through a simple online search. In conclusion, our experience with Destination Wedding Travel, Inc. was both frustrating and expensive. The agency demonstrated a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and an inability to provide essential services. This rendered them ineffective in planning what should have been a joyous occasion. I strongly advise against using their services for any travel planning, especially for significant events like destination weddings.Destination Wedding Travel, Inc.

1 starDo not use Destination Weddings. Reach out directly to resorts or hotels. We did in a single day what they failed to accomplish in 6 weeks. They embarrassed us on top of wasted time and money. They asked us to send out Save the Date emails and that the contract was complete, but moments later we are getting calls from guests that the rooms were double what they expected. We had to cancel our wedding plans and start from scratch. If it was not for our guests reaching out and asking about the price difference, Destination Weddings would have remained happily silent or unaware of this massive error. When we followed up and asked them to honor the original prices, dates, and terms of our signed agreement, Destination Weddings said the hotel never actually signed their end of the contract. There was no way to hold them to anything. We gave them another chance to find a new hotel, speak to management, anything...But in the end they sent a single email with zero urgency. To highlight how incompetent they were; within hours of looking on our own we were able to book and sign room agreements directly with another resort in the area for the dates we wanted. As opposed to 6 weeks of "work" with Destination Weddings. The only point Destination Weddings served was to waste our time, give us a feeling of uncertainty about our wedding, and waste $250 on non-refundable down payment. Completely useless service. Work direct with the resorts and hotels.Destination Wedding Travel, Inc.
