I hired Delano Construction to install granite counters and a backsplash in my kitchen. The work involved removing the old counters and sink, removing the old sink, installing preselected granite counters, installing a new sink, and installing a backsplash with tiles I purchased. The general contractor, *************************, agreed that a plumber would be on the premises for the removal of the sink and the reconnecting of the garbage disposal. The plumber did not arrive. As a result, the next morning we found an extensive leak that destroyed the floor of the cabinet under the sink and did damage to the wooden floor. When the plumber did arrive after the weekend, he didn't shut the building's water off properly and all tenants lost hot water. Another plumber had to be called in. This month we had another leak. The plumber who repaired it said the previous plumber hired by Delano Construction had not sealed the sink properly. That cost us $388.00. Refinishing our wooden floor cost $1,300. In addition, the backsplash hadn't been sealed and the grout was crumbling until ****************** repaired it. In compensation ***************** has paid us only $200. He has not responded to the bill I submitted for the $388. I would not hire this company under any circumstances.
