I started buying Wellness Pet's Old Mother ******* Peanut Butter Treats for one of my dogs, after she was diagnosed with KD, and I had to cut her meaty treats. She loved the treats and they are good for her. No problem, there. The problem lies with the unexpected guests inside the bags of treats! Those unexpected guests invaded my home, resulting in an infestation! Pantry moths! I have videos and photographs of live larva and moths crawling around inside 3 unopened bags of those treats. My home was so badly infested, I had to cover everything on the stove while I cooked, immediately dry dishes and put them away, without draining, keep my vacuum cleaner in my kitchen, where I frequently vacuum pantry moths off my ceiling and more. I contacted Wellness Pets and told them what happened. There response was to blame the store I ordered the treats from, tell me to ask the store for a refund, and they would send me coupons for $25.00 worth of Wellness Products, and tell me Pantry Moths do not carry parasites, so they are safe!. That is not going to get it! 1) You could not PAY me to bring another Wellness Product into my home! Not even for millions of dollars! 2) I order ALL of my dog treats from the same store, many brands, but only Wellness Treats are contaminated with Pantry Moths! The other brands ARE NOT! 3) I will NOT feed my dog treats that those bugs have been in, whether they carry parasites or not, and I would love for ALL WELLNESS CUSTOMERS to know about THAT remark! 4) I have been out MUCH more expense, and TROUBLE than $25.00. My exterminator can confirm that my house was CLEAN! Did not have pests, until this. I had to buy 2 bug zappers, and Pantry Moth Traps for my home. I have had to wash walls, cabinets, and everything in them. I had to buy air tight containers for my and my dogs food and treats. Though things are much improved, I still have them. One female Pantry moth lays up to 400 eggs, so it will take a LONG time to rid my home of them!

Do not feed your dog Whimzees, the dental chews manufactured by WellPet. Our dog ate one of the hedgehog-shaped ones and was severely ill for four days before finally starting to feel better. She lost tremendous weight that we are still trying to put back on her. She endured multiple X-rays, IV fluids, multiple medications, syringe feeding and watering, among other things. Look up reviews online, and you will see that many, many dogs have suffered similar illness after ingesting these treats. We went to the company to complain and to see about reimbursement for the nearly $1,000 vet bills (for a $3 treat!), and their excuse is that because our dog got a portion of a treat that was intended for dogs in a weight category five pounds over her weight at the time, that that was what caused the issue. My vet's response when I told her their excuse? "There's no way. They're just trying to cover for themselves." A dog within five pounds should not have had to be admitted to the veterinary hospital for eating a portion (not all; our other dog ate some of it too) of a treat. The severity of her illness was nowhere near a normal response. And if that's the risk of feeding a dog THAT close to the weight limit a treat that is in the next weight category? Well they better plaster all kinds of warnings all over their labels that treats fed to a dog even a pound under the weight category may cause severe illness (or death? I don't know if our dog would have made it had we not brought her in). But they won't, because they know that wasn't the cause of her reaction. This company claims to care about animals, and they sure didn't care about mine. Every interaction I had with them felt saccharine-sweet and condescending. Please don't act like you're my friend (and that you care about my dog) when we both know you don't. You're all about the bottom line for yourselves, not doing the right thing for pets. I hope you can live with yourselves, because this blatant lying and refusal to take accountability for damage one of your products has caused to a pet has shown me that your company is pure scum. I will never buy anything manufactured by WellPet again, and I will tell everyone I know, including the dog rescues I'm part of, to also stay far away. And looking at the other reviews of your company on BBB, I can see that this sort of behavior from you is a pattern.
