I would give this business 0 stars if I could. My partner and I are in the process of getting a mortgage pre-approval. I contacted the credit union where we have our auto loan (Security First Mortgage Lending is a subsidiary of MCU). Let me just start by saying, Ive received NUMEROUS, spammy credit card offers from this bank. But their rates are not at all competitive to what I get with DCU, where I have the industrys lowest possible interest rate for a platinum credit card. To make a long story short, our Loan Officer was supposedly very experienced with low income mortgage situations. Instead, she was rude and condescending. I emailed a complaint to upper management at Security First about rude and non-compassionate treatment of my sensitive financial information. After they invited myself and my partner for a lengthy phone conversation (probably for them to attempt to save face from my complaint), they further condescended me. Meanwhile, Im qualifying for a mortgage with another local lender. I would have already refinanced my MCU-funded auto loan with the credit union Ive had for over 22 years if I didnt need to move now due to my rental unit having been sold. Once my move is settled, MCU will not get another cent of my business. DCU (my familys bank) hasnt been great since they have massively grown, but they have my entire familys business for nearly my entire life. Security First knew about my not ideal situation before they continued to dig into it and then insult me about it. Goodbye MCU. I cant trust that you actually review documents when another company is working with me.
