They left us without heat! Here is the factual account of why I will never work with this company again. Our old *********** furnace died on the coldest Sunday morning of the year due to failure of the combustion fan motor - it was 2-weeks away from being replaced. Climate Engineering had been servicing our furnace since we bought the house, and we placed an emergency call with them. Hours later, their technician was able to get it running for a few minutes, but it died again and he told us that he would order us a new motor the next day. My family and I braved it out for the night without heat and it was approximately 10 degrees outside. The next morning I was woken up by the owner on the phone. He angrily asked me why we weren't using his company to replace our furnace. I patiently explained to him that we were doing a huge HVAC/plumbing project with another company - it was through a family friend and we didn't consider anyone else. I told him that we called his company for the furnace because we thought they knew the system best and could fix it fastest. He told us that if they wouldn't be servicing the new system going forward, he would not order us the new motor and complete the repair that had been promised to us. Then he hung up the phone.He left my family freezing in our house because of some silly bruised ego.Here are some further kickers. We just received the **** for the emergency call. It was a 20 minute visit. $506.25. It was another day before we could actually get a new motor for the furnace. The technician informed us that the motor blew out because the old motor, which had been installed years earlier by Climate Engineering, was not installed properly, and it caused excess friction, leading to the motor blowing out. We had wondered why it was so loud all the time.I hope that nobody else has this experience. We would have lodged a formal complaint, but to what end? There is no adequate compensation for what they did.
