I contacted Jim Pike Plastering for a job I needed done. He told me he would send ****** to look at the job. The job was to plaster 4 rooms, sand them, and paint the ceilings and walls. ****** came with a painter named ***********************************. ****** priced the job at $5500 and I buy all the materials, to which I agreed. ****** said that I would have to pay half up front and to make the check out to the ***************************, which I did. When I told other people who had plastering done before how much I was paying, they thought it was expensive. I went with the painter (******) to buy the materials which cost over $500. ****** came to the house with two men to look at what had to be plastered. They began the work the next day. They finished the plastering and wanted to sand it to get it ready for the paint, but ****** said no, that he would do it. ****** did not wait for the plaster to totally dry and primed over it, which caused mold. He did not sand it. When I spoke with him about not sanding it correctly, he said he knew what he was doing. When ****** painted the kitchen ceiling, he did not tape off the ceiling beams and got paint all over it. He did not cover the doors, and got paint on them. When I contacted *************** regarding my issues, he told me he was retired, that he takes the calls for work through his website, gives the job to ******, and receives $200 for the referral. None of that was disclosed to me by *** or ****** when we first spoke. I told *** that I didn't want their services anymore and wanted half my deposit back, and he told me it has nothing to do with him. I told *** that I called him from the website and he told me he was sending ******, so I think he responsible. *** doesn't agree. He said ****** is responsible. ****** is not returning my calls, and neither is the ***************************. This is why I'm looking for help in returning half of my deposit.
