    The concept for this business is great. Many older adults need help managing their medications at home. However, the execution was one problem after the other. I am myself a Pharmacist, but I live a distance from my mother, who was struggling due to some cognitive decline. Like most older adults, she would like to remain in her home as long as possible. The idea that MedMinder could fill a weekly pill box for her and ship it to her house sounded like the perfect solution.The first major error was when was when there was a dose change on one of her medications. Instead of substituting the new dose for the old one, they included both doses in the next month shipment. That was a potential overdose that my mom thankfully caught. Another month, the shipment was delayed, and my mom had a few days of scrambling together medications from old pill bottles. This was stressful for both of us and potentially dangerous. Another month, they left one of the anxiety medications out, and we didnt realize it until she started experiencing withdrawal symptoms.Most recently, they left out two of her Parkinsons medications. This again was again not caught for a couple days until she started experiencing abrupt mental status changes.When your client base is older adults with multiple chronic medical conditions who are struggling to manage their own medications at home, your margin for error needs to be slim.I reviewed every monthly shipment on the phone with their staff prior to it being sent out, but often there were subsequent issues (mostly with getting refills renewed) which were never relayed back to me. I repeatedly asked them to email me the tracking number and monthly invoice for every shipment, which they routinely failed to do. They appear to have no process in place to address and remediate errors. While their staff was friendly, I rarely spoke to the same person twice, which suggests deficits in consistency, leadership, accountability and communication.
