I bought a 2018 jeep Cherokee limited. It has a small dent in the passenger door when I bought it. Herb chambers agreed to fix it. I've waited over a month for this to be resolved. The issue is they claim I owe over 500$ towards the pay off of the 2011 jeep Cherokee I traded in. Herb chambers emailed me that I needed to sign one more piece of the contract for the payoff. I was on my way to sign the paperwork and the representative called on the phone that everything is all set and I don't need to sign anything the payoff has gone through. I want this dent fixed and they won't fix it til I pay over 500$$ for their mistake. I actually called credit one who is handling the 2011 payoff and has in fact been paid off. Herb chambers wants me to pay money that isn't owed. I believe it's because they sold me a jeep with a dent and I'm expected to pay for the repair. The scheduled date to fix it was July 5th and it was no problem, no money owed.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2021/08/10) */ Contact Name and Title: Carey L*** Contact Phone: 5087577444 Contact Email: *****@herbchambers.com On July 7 2021 our client traded a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with us upon purchase of a 2018 Grand Cherokee. The client had an open loan with Credit Acceptance bank on her trade vehicle for which the payoff was estimated to be 4000.00. We used this estimate when completing the clients paperwork for her new purchase. It is standard practice to estimate a trade payoff after normal business hours or on weekends when it may not be possible to reach a customers financial institution. At this time the client also signed an acknowledgment form which indicates that if the actual payoff was higher that the estimate she understood she was responsible for the difference. Upon receiving our payoff check for $4000.00 Credit Acceptance bank informed us that an additional $560.14 was due to close the customers loan on the 2011 Jeep. In good faith we sent the additional funds to Credit Acceptance which closed the customers loan and relieved her of any additional financial responsibility to Credit Acceptance. The customer is responsible to reimburse the dealership for these additional funds that were required to close the loan and allow us to accept her 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee as a trade in. With respect to the dent/ding on the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee this client purchased we did let the client know that we are happy to arrange for this repair at no cost to her. It is our understanding that there may have been a miscommunication regarding an appointment that was scheduled for this repair to take place but not completed due to inclement weather. We will gladly arrange for this repair to take place at a time that is convenient for the client and have reached out to her to get a new appointment scheduled. We consider the balance due for the clients trade vehicle payoff and the repair that has not yet been completely to be unrelated concerns and are committed to resolving her concerns regarding the ding in her 2018 Jeep.
