The nature of the dispute is simply that Modern Temp performed services for us which we paid in full. Modern Temp has refused to sign and provide the information for a Mass Saves rebate ($10,000) for which we are entitled. Their refusal to sign, stems from the fact we have refused to do business with them in the future. The work was shoddy and incomplete, debris was left all over my yard, pricing came in higher than quoted and the owner was hostile to us. All of the above merit complaints but we have gotten over it and just want them to sign the Mass Saves rebates. Getting $10,000 in rebates was a major reason for doing this project.

On June 6, 2024 I signed an estimate to fix the condenser on my outside AC unit with *** at Modern ********************** had given me the diagnosis, and I was hoping to get a better price for repair, which I did ($3,266 to replace the compressor). I gave him a 50% deposit of $1,633 through Venmo (probably should have used credit card for fraud protection), and *** showed up with the replacement compressor, ready to do the repair a week later. Upon further diagnosis, *** found that the reversing valve was also blown, and he said it would take a while to find one that would work with my 14-year old Carrier condenser. He recommended an entirely new unit, which comprised of installing a new York condenser and evaporator coil. Total would be $11,000 for the unit and the installation. Since we did not have this kind of cash available, I decided to ask for a third and fourth opinion on repairing the unit. Two other HVAC contractors assured me that the compressor and valve could be easily replaced for under $5,000. Since we were very short on cash I contacted *** to ask if he could PLEASE repair the 2 items since he still had my deposit. I also offered, as an alternative, for him to just give me the compressor he had purchased with my deposit, so another HVAC tech could install it, if he didn't want the job. He reluctantly agreed to come over and do the job once he found the reversing valve. 2 weeks passed. He told me he had his "York **** looking for the part". I was able to find the part online after a 30-second ****** search, and he told me to just order it. After a month of being pushed off, I decided to ask for my deposit to be refunded. It is now August 12th, and I have been told multiple times by *** and ********* that it has been issued. My wife a 4 children have gone the entire summer without AC on the main floor. All we want is our deposit refunded, so I can hire someone else. Last communication from them was 12 days ago.

Modern Temperature Control installed a new furnace at my residence in Feb 18th, 2023. Since then, we have had nothing but problems. On February 20th - 2 days after install - we had to call the fire department because there was a ** leak. We are lucky that we have ** detectors installed all over our home - this could have been very, very serious.Right now, the measured ** in the exhaust is over ****ppm - it should be less than 50ppm. Our propane supply to the furnace has now been shut off because the furnace is considered high risk. The furnace needs to be replaced immediately. We have been contacting - texting and emailing constantly - the company for MONTHS now, and they have not fixed the problem. This is a brand new furnace, still under warranty. The installation services are still under warranty as well. The company has done nothing but give us the runaround, including asking us to contact a "work number" which really is the owner's cell number that he is texting from, and which he doesn't pick up when called. The owner - *** - acknowledged that the warranty will have to go through them and then after that, all he does is either completely ignore texts or sends meaningless texts such as "Please call office" or "You got it" or "it's still summer" or "why is your heat running in the summer time". And then - NOTHING. No action, no responses to email. We have spent $5500.00 on this and we feel like we have been scammed. Winter is fast approaching (evenings are already getting cold) and we don't have heat despite installing a new furnace. We are extremely frustrated and we need our furnace - which is still under warranty - replaced ASAP.

issues with ** and the first floor furnace before Modern Temperature was even contacted. Since then we have worked diligently , including have our YORK representative and tech support to their house to make sure this customer receives exactly what they expect from a new furnace purchase. Working with warranty can be frustrating on both sides , this customer has received a brand furnace as well as an updated exhaust and venting system from Schedule 40 to Du
This issue was unfortunately a warranty issue and we as a company have gone above and beyond to rectify this situation. It should be noted there were issues
