    Cyrus Properties is the property manager for the homeowner's association of a condo that I own in ******. On 8/17/21, there was a leak from my unit into the unit below due to a blocked **** condensation pipe. Up until a few weeks before, the **** systems had been managed by the ****** this leak occurred just as there was a transition of responsibility from *** to unit owners which resulted in confusion about whether this leak was my responsibility or the ***s. I am placing this complaint because Cyrus is charging me for several hours of their staff's unnecessary time spent in confusion over how to handle the situation. Instead of an immediate call to me notifying me of the leak so I could immediately address the issue with the help of my tenants (who were home at the time and assist me with caring for the unit), Cyrus sent a staff member out who was unfamiliar with the building and could not figure out how to use my keys (this is evidenced in the email I received from Cyrus on 8/17/21 attached). I was only called after he was already at the condo and stated that the locks had been changed -- which they had not. He then remained on site even after it was clear my tenants were home to accompany the plumber. This prevented me from communicating with the plumber & led me to believe the **** was still *** managed. I then received a **** for 4 hours of Cyrus staff time along with a large plumbing **** for a simple flushing of a condensation pipe. In speaking with the head of the **** I understood that the plumbing **** seems to be my responsibility but asked the *** head, "if you had a leak from your unit, would you expect a staff member to be sent out and charge you for time without checking if you are home to meet the plumber yourself?" She responded that she would definitely expect the call first and that if she or someone else was home, the staff person would not need to come out. I request removal of the full charge for Cyrus staff time currently on my ledger.
