BUYER BEWARE! We were taken advantage of and lost $16k. We bought a house in 2020 and inquired this summer 2022 with County Glass as to whether to replace the windows or simply replace the glass inserts. The Rep **** stated that wood windows in MA last ***** yrs and that we could replace glass inserts to save some money. He also informed us that we did NOT have Low-E glass to help protect from the sun. We placed the order for 27 windows. A neighbor informed me that wood windows only last ***** yrs in MA. I reached out via e-mail and phone less than 2 wks later and tried to cancel the order or see what could be done since we were misinformed, and my windows are 22 y/o. I was told that our special order of 27 window inserts was completed and ready to be shipped. That week, the owner *** replaced a large broken window and we learned from him that we DID have Low-E windows!! I told him that his Rep **** informed me differently and that was the only reason we were replacing the first floor windows!!! *** responded that "sometimes it is hard to tell". When I asked *** about the lifetime of wood windows, he first replied that wood windows last ***** yrs, once he found out that we were trying to cancel a large order he said if we took care of the windows that they wood last ***** yrs. Over 2 mos later I reached out to inquire about our order and deposit money. I went into the store and inquired again as I spoke with the manager that I was being taken advantage of. I spoke with *** via phone and he reassured me that the windows will last ***** yrs. Again I said we were given the wrong info about the Low-E windows, nothing was offered. The work is completed, I am out $16k, and I will have to replace all of my wood windows in the next 10 yrs or less. I am from the Midwest, how can people be so dishonest? - Disappointed Customer :-(
