I signed up for a *ower *urchase Agreement (***) that was offered by Devlin Energy in Jan 2023. It was the worst mistake I have ever made. Devlin misrepresented the rules that apply for net metering and the agreements that they required me to sign have cost me thousands of dollars so far and the damages continue to accrue.Devlin failed to disclose to me that net metering credits expire at the end of the month and cannot be carried forward. My sole purpose for signing up to a *** was to bank solar credits earned during the summer months so I could apply them in the winter to heat my electric heated home. Devlin failed to disclose that this was not possible. The *** that Devlin established for me totally failed to meet my needs for electric power.Devlin required that I sign a Schedule A document with the National Grid utility in order to have my solar system connected to the grid. This document enables ************* to buy extra power generated by my solar system every month at the * rate. This rate is not specified in the Schedule A and when I asked Devlin to explain it to me that were unable to answer. Turns out the * rate is 2.8 cents/KW. The impact of this Schedule A is that I pay the solar company 21.5 cents/KW for the megawatts of extra power that my system produces during the summer months and the ************* buys that power from me at a 90% discount. For the month of July 2024, my system generated a surplus of 1479KW. At the end of the month I paid the solar company $318 for this power then under the terms of Schedule A ************* bought the same power from me for $33.41. During the winter heating months I pay National Grid 38 cents/KW for the same power they bought from me for 2.8 cents/KW. Thanks to Devlin and National Grid my net cost for power in the winter is 57.7 cents/KW

Initially we were satisfied with the job they did installing our solar panels. However, after they had been installed for some time, we starting having issues. Our system quit working when it rained. It took many weeks before Devlin sent anyone to our house to look at the system. Once they did, they first sent an electrician who said the issue was on the roof, but he could not get on the roof. The next crew that came out could get on the roof, but didn't because they decided that that issue was that the outside electrical box just needed to be resealed from the weather. That did not fix the issue. Finally, the next crew got on the roof. They discovered such significant squirrel damage that all of our panels had to be replaced (at a cost of $10,000 to us) and that we were lucky we hadn't had a fire. There is a "critter guard" that they could install to prevent this from happening again. We were NEVER told about the need for critter guard when we started the process of contracting with Devlin to install our panels. If we had been told upfront, we would have paid they (about) $1400 that they said it would cost and saved ourselves the $10,000 later. It works out nice for Devlin since we ended up having to buy the panels twice. In addition, we were quoted one price for the new panels over the phone and then when the actually estimate was sent it was much higher. Anyone that is considering working with Devlin needs to make sure to ask them about Critter Guard early in the process.

I contracted to have DEVLIN install a roof, solar system and battery. Although the installation took way too long, once they got started the installation was professional and went smoothly. It has been running for about a month and has been supplying more power to the grid than I'm using. Last weekend we had a power out, and despite it being a somewhat cloudy day, I wouldn't even had known it was happening. When I checked the solar performance I saw the grid was down. That lasted a few hours and had no impact on my home power. So I am satisfied with the installation so far.

Taillight warrantee. Shingles came began coming off our roof with 10 days of installation. When asked to investigate, they ignored the requests. Two months later when we had signs of water, the came out and immediately claimed it wasn't their fault. They then billed me $400 for coming out. Finally spoke with the *** He continued to claim it was a December storm, yet the shingles came off in November three weeks earlier. The tech also found a defect in the installation or equipment and stayed at the house for 3 to 4 hours. When we asked to speak with the technician, they have refused to let us do that. No transparency.Empty promises that they would follow through on my concerns by stonewalling and non-responsiveness.In the end, we reinstalled the shingles and likely have a defective installation.I work with contractors for a living, I would never work with them again.Be aware.

I am very pleased with these guys and gals. I had looked at other solar companies and was on the fence about who to use, until I spoke with ****. He did a great job and made me feel at ease about the whole process. He was available by phone or text any time I needed him.***** the service manager answered all my crazy questions promptly. If he didn't know the answer he sent me to someone who did. There was a young woman that I spoke with about my solar system after it was installed, I wish I could remember her name. She was extremely knowledgeable and even checked in on my system through the day. **** and the guys at enphase worked late on a Friday and early Saturday to resolve an issue. I can't thank them enough for that.

Devlin Energy has given my family the run-around and has been incredibly frustrating to deal with. We have signed contracts and are already paying the monthly financing but have no solar panels yet. It is incredibly difficult to actually talk to someone at Devlin and has been a struggle to get responses to basic questions. The salesperson we were working with is now *** and the latest account manager has said they know nothing about our project and think it's "going to fall into **** installs bucket". We have been working with them on this for six months, since May 2023! The project requires a roof replacement, which was promised as a benefit to working with Devlin and a key part of our discussions with them from the start. I would not do business with Devlin again.

Our solar project was complete 2/10/23 and the solar loan dispersed on or around 2/15/23. We paid $7k up front to our arborist in mid March, We had $7k allocated for tree work in our solar loan and have been in regular communication with our engineer for the repayment. We have been told several times that Devlin owed DIY (subsidiary and installer) for 9 projects and therefore I should be patient. Its been approximately 76 days since Devlin received the enormous loan from our lender (our project was over $100k) and, comparing the dates discussed in this complaint, that was just shy of a full month BEFORE we paid the arborist. Toward the end of April we were becoming increasingly agitated as we were paying interest on the amount paid to Devlin for the certified check. It was as this point we attempted to contact Accounts Payable at Devlin. It took a couple calls to finally get a call back. The employee tasked with AP responsibilities knew nothing of the pending payment and requested proof of the conversation with our engineer. We provided many screenshots and the receipt for our payment to Devlins AP department head but we never heard back. We finally drafted a payment demand email addressed to Devlins AP department which included an invoice we generated through PayPal. The invoice total was for the original amount from the tree work, interest we have incurred from our credit card company, and the processing fees charged by PayPal. We also set a deadline for payment of April 30, 2023 to avoid incurring another interest charge from our credit card company and if not paid we would leave a review of our experience with the BBB. 4/30/23 came and went, no payment, no communication. Our engineer informed us that Devlin stated they mailed a check on 4/29/23 and then in a later conversation he stated the check was mailed 4/27/23. Today is 5/2/23 and we have not been paid the $7k from Devlin.
