      The stairlift travels from the basement to the second floor of my home. It was installed to stop on the top step of my second floor, but it stops facing the wall. To face the landing, I must manually push my feet against the opposite wall of the staircase. I need this product because of severe, escalating and and painful arthritis in my hip so that is not possible.. I was willing to pay for a three foot extension so the rails ended on my landing but am quoted $9,600 because they say they must tear out the entire three-story rail system and replace it. I pointed out that the rails came in sections that were connected in my home, so why not just replace the last section (~6 feet) and add the extension. They said they can do this but it will still cost $9,600, the same price as starting over. Stannah never discloses that any modifications or repairs to damaged rails requires this kind of work or cost. I feel like they are cheating elderly, handicapped customers because once the initial system is installed you are trapped into paying whatever they want. It has been four months and I still cannot use it. So I would need to spend a total of one year's Social Security for a stairlift that allows me to stay in my home?

      I had a Stannah Chairlift a couple of weeks ago. I was very satisfied with the installation by ***********************. He was very personable, knowledgeable, & very neat. He was thorough in explaining how to use the chairlift.

      what's the use of having a 24 hour service number if you can't get any service for 4 days. My wife and I are very disappointed, we are wondering what did we get ourselves into. We are seniors in our 70's we purchased this stair lift with promises of good customer service, all we have gotten is excuses. maybe we should have researched more and checked with other companies. The customer service for a trouble shoot or repair is just terrible.

      My dad purchased a stair lift and it was refurbished we haven't had them installed for that long and we have had problems with it and I called about it and the tech told me how to fix it. After that conversation, I still had problems my dad called the tech to report it and he NEVER returned the call. Then, yesterday I wanted to go upstairs and chair did not work, we called the person that sold us the chair he called the tech and the tech called me and we trouble shoot it well my word was not good so the person who sold us the stairs came out trouble shoot it AGAIN and realized that the batteries are DEAD!!!!! I am so unhappy about this whole situation and I feel that they should replace it free of charge with a NEW chair!!! The supervisor tech was suppose to call and never did and now the stairs aren't getting fixed! I am stuck downstairs and needing desperately to go upstairs. The salesman said that the tech was going to call my dad NEVER did! Oh and they don't have a tech REALLY!!!?????!!!!

      The last straw!!Never been happy with this - It finally fell apart and is blocking my cellar exit. This has to be the most poorly engineered and cheaply constructed thing we had ever bought. I got it for my late wife and since I am approaching 85 I kept it here. The foot rest had failed for the third time about a year ago (we didn't try to operate it with weight on it) and I decided nobody knew how to fix it so I never called it in, The seat cover and the foot rest cover are falling off, the right seat rotation adjustment lever broke off, the safety switches are often intermittent and the hard stops work sometime fall off and leave the chair half way up or down. I refused to spend any more money on it.The last straw was this morning when it jumped the track when I was on it and pitched me off,and some plastic pieces fell off from somewhere and now it is stuck and half tipped over. It cost us nearly $5,000 for about a year of trouble free operation.Is this thing for real???.I just want it gone and I wont pay a nickel to see it gone. Enough is enough!!!!******************************* Oct 18 update:Their promises mean absolutely nothing. No one has called or visited as promised me. (see last response) I called again and described its' dead condition after it had jumped off the track. I was curtly told that that nothing would be done until I paid more money. We had to go into **** to buy this thing. Sp now It's blocking my basement stairs. I have to crawl around it every time I have to go down or do my laundry or buy groceries assisted by two canes.. They won't come out to fix it because I refused to pay the last bill which didn't solve anything.. My experience with this company has been a complete disaster. Take my advice and go elsewhere. Their letters and promises mean absolutely nothing. Don't be fooled by these companies that take advantage of us elderly and handicapped and pacify us with soothsaying replies here..

      Product support is not companies priority my stairlift has stopped working and left me stuck upstairs. I called to request for service tech to come out for repair ans explained chair will not move more than six inches and continuously chimes unless mster switch is turned off. The soonest they can get someone here is 15th. 8 days without ability to get downstairs to go to doc appointments. Very diassappointed in lack of urgency they feel in getting issue resolved.feels like not tgeir problem

      The lift seems to be working well, however, it is far too noisy. the beeps wake the household and it is too complicated for my husband with dementia.. *** was a great help.

      We understand beeping can be disruptive, especially if it wakes the household, however it is a critical feature designed to notify the user that the stairlift battery is not able to charge. The most common situation where this occurs, is if you have a retractable rail and have left the stairlift in the downstairs position. Please reach out to us if you still have questions concerning this.

      We strive to make our products as user-friendly as possible, however we understand that there may be a learning curve for individuals with dementia. Our team has experience with a diversity of users and would be happy to offer advice or suggestions for making that learning curve less steep.       We love the Stannah chair lift, we have it now two months and dont know how we did without it. We use it several times daily. The **************** is excellent, the installation was excellent too. We are very happy that we have a Stannah Chair Lift. My husband needed it more than I do, but I find myself using it more. This come in handy for shopping bags and laundry, since having the remote to use with it.I will go downstairs send the chair back up and my husband will put the bags on the chair and send it back to me makes life easier for both of us.       The Stannah stairlift experience was smooth, transparent, and professional. I thought the salesman was helpful and knowledgeable. The installers were friendly, left the property spotless, and efficiently installed the lift. The equipment works as promised and I could not be happier. The model I purchased is on the exterior of the home. I wish I bought one sooner. The cost is high, but competitive. The money is worth it because I can come and go with my 98 year old mother without fear of falling down or up the stairs.

      We had our Stannah Stairlift installed yesterday, 2/27/2023 by ****. I'm 83 years old and extremely fussy. In past years I built custom homes so I have experience with contractors. I can't say enough about ****'s expertise and her attention to detail.Stannah was very organized beginning with a telephone call, the follow up by the salesperson and the fantastic installer, ****. Before **** left our home, my wife ask her how often has she experienced problems with the stairlifts. Her answer was, "hardly ever"****
