    I have spoken to three employees over the last year about my account. We, I do not attend this gym. I was paying on my account, which was my grandfather's family account from when I signed up years ago. I stopped going. They had been charging me every month and then started charging me for a second account; I told them I did not wish to continue this membership. I am not required to continue to pay for something I do not use. In addition, two other employees told me your account would no longer be active. We can see you have not used the gym in years. I got a call from a collector's office who threatened me. I informed them I would take them to court and litigate in small claims. They said we won't do anything. I told them they better not report this to the creditors. ****** stated he would send this back to Answer Fitness. I called and spoke with a nice lady named **** and asked her for the manager position. She said her name was ******. I said I would come in and speak with them or the Owner. If I need to file a suit in small claims, I would. I have told them, and they stated that a year ago, the system made a mistake and continues to try to charge me for the monthly fees. I want this resolved, and for this company, Answer Fitness, to retract this from the creditors, and there better not be a claim filed with nonpayment of a service or membership I do not use. This is wrong in so many ways, I told them to cancel my membership and that I do not wish to continue for them to charge me for a memebership I do not use.I exspect a call back there is no reason I need to go inperson for this. I have given them hundreds of dollars over the years.

    i do not see any account for **** ****** in our system.  I do however have an account for ******* ****** matching that address which was transferred from **** ******. So if he is talking about ******* ******** account, that is in collections as it is past due since July of 2024.  I looked through this account and their is no cancelation on file or any notes that any type of cancelation was processed.  If he has a copy or proof of the cancelation please send it over and i will be happy to rectify.

    This gym closed down during the pandemic and still collected membership fees, we requested multiple times by phone to cancel the membership due to the gym permanently shutting down. They refused to allow us el cancel stating that we had to go to their other location and cancel in person. We stated that due to the fact that we moved to another state and that I had an immune compromised situation, I wouldnt be able to go cancel in person. They continued to withdraw money from our bank account, despite the gym that I had joined no longer being open. After several attempts to cancel the membership, we finally resorted to putting a stop payment on our account so they could no longer withdraw money. Now they are threatening to send us to collections for money owed towards a service that was not provided.

    This account is in collections as it is past due back through April of 2023.  We have made multiple attempts to collect this debt over the past 90 days with no success.  Once it becomes 90 days past due the account goes into collections.  this is the second time this member has gone into collections as the first was when she was a member back in 2013.  the reaosn this account is past due is because she never cancelled the membership, she only cancelled her credit card for billing.  She had the same options as every other member to cancel the account which is in person or through certified mail, which both give her a receipt for proof of cancelation which is what the ************* requires.  If she can provide a copy of any tpe of cancelation receipt i would be happy to remove the account from collections.  But after talking with her through ******** and email she has stated only that she cancelled her credit card and could not provide any type of cancelation.  Also please see note provided b my staff when she called in about the cancelation process. Instead of following the procedure of cancelation she just cancelled her credit card.

     have made multiple attempts to cancel the membership since 2020, the repsonse we repeatedly got was that I would have to show ** in person to cancel, given that we were in the middle of a pandemic and I had multiple health issues going on, I feel that the business could have been more accommodating, and taken a better approach in regards to customer service. FAQ

    The process for cancelation was explained to the member which is in person or through certified mail. The process of cancelation is also on the membership contract she agreed to.  These are the standards for cancelation out through by the ************* and to protect the consumer. There is no way to verify any of her claims of calling in to cancel. That is why the state does not require cancels over the phone. The require in person in which they are given a receipt or through certified mail in which they are also given a receipt. This is to protect the consumer. She has not provided our facility with any type of proof of cancelation.  Unfortunately saying you called to cancel is not a valid cancelation procedure. Please also note that this is the second time this member has gone into the collections process. This is not a situation of if the member cancelled and the gym made a mistake. This member never cancelled the membership. As I have said in my previous comment. If she can provide me with any type of proof of cancelation I will be happy to rectify the situation.

    We have been charged for membership for over 2 years. We called to cancel over the phone during COVID and they said you have to come in person. We went in person and they said we are not in their system but we are still being billed for a monthly bill. We have no idea who to call or what to do to stop the monthly membership from being pulled from our account. We will be reaching out to the bank to see if we can get this done through them

    We do not have any cancelation on file or notes that the member has come int to cancel the account.  If the member has a copy of the cancelation or certified mail receipt, please forward over to me at ******************************************************* and i would be happy to look and see if a mistake was made on our end.  if the member does not have either of these please either stop in and fill out a cancelation form or mail in a certified letter of cancelation to the home clubs address and we will process.

    We (my husband and I) were at the gym yesterday to cancel in person for the 2nd time. As mentioned the woman at the front desk said she could not find the name in the system and said someone would call us back.  Attached please find the form. I would again appreciate that our membership be cancelled. This place is really horrible and the customer service is unacceptable. I will be emailing a copy to the email address as recommended but this issue is still not resolved.

    The issue with this account was the customer was continually trying to cancel an account in the name *********************** which does not exist in our system.  The reason or this is the account was transferred over to *************************** as this member took over the PT sessions from *********************** and was using them.  There is a new contract on file of PT Sessions with Nidal' name on it and also a cancelation of that contract with *****'s name on it.  So, this was not an error on part of the business as the account was transferred from one to the other and the name, they were giving us was not in our system.  I also even asked in an email if it could be under a different name, and they said no.  We have since figure this out and the cancelation has been filled out correctly and will be processed accordingly.

    This gym was sold by the owner and was closed down by the end of August. I handed my cancellation form to the front desk but I did not get a copy of it. A month later I got a charge for the monthly fee I thought it was a mistake, so I removed my credit card from the file. Last week I received a letter in the mail, saying that I owe them $157 for 3 months of missed payments and late fees. They told me I had to pay because I had an ongoing membership with the other gym in foxborough, which is 8 miles from my house. I called to explain, and was told to pay them then they would cancel. I filed a complaint with the BBB, he agreed to remove all the characters and the late fees. I called again today and I was told again pay first, and that there would be another month added to my bill. They removed all of my information from their app so I can't even cancel it myself. This is my second time complaining to the BBB because the first time the owner failed to meet his terms.Thank you for your help

    this member is past due in an amount over 90 days.  once this happens which we notified the member of the account becomes returned for collections and is forwarded to a collections company.  we gave this member an opportunity before this happened to clear up the account and waive all late fee's and service fees as there is nothing on file as far as any cancelation and he could not provide us with any proof of cancelation.  He would need to pay the past due and we will gladly cancel their account.  or if he can provide us with proof he cancelled back in August we will happily waive all past due amount.

    If my membership was canceled and submitted to collection, why was there another charge on my account for this month? Based on what you said, my account should be closed. I do not have a contract with you, my contract ended after one year and switched over to month-to-month. Why wasn't I notified by the gym after the first month of no payments? Do you have to wait 90 days? Is the gym is Foxborough owned by the same owner? Please provide me with your name and title id like to know who I'm speaking to.

    this account becomes returned for collection after 90 days.  this account is past due for Sept, Oct and Nov.  We have contacted you multiple times about the delinquency.  Please see below.  also note our billing company gave you the same information we gave you.  i also spoke to you through email and gave you this information.  in each instance you declined to pay the past due balance and with that the debt grows for up to 90 days and service fees and late fees are added.  please see below :

    I have been a member of Answer is Fitness club in *************** since 2019, even during the pandemic. I did not ask to get a refund for the time they were closed down. Just trying to be helpful to the community, the facility has been closed down since august of 2022. I filled out a cancellation form and handed it out to the front desk. Today I received a letter in the mail saying that I owed them $158.47, because they transfered my membership to the Foxboro club without my confirmation. When I called them, I was told the membership could be canceled effective immediately, with the condition of having to pay them first. The club is 9 miles away from my house. I already have had another membership since September. I don't think it is fair to pay $158 for something I never asked for.

    We did not bill any of our members when the gym was closed so there would be no need for a refund.  we were one of the few gyms to not bill our members during this time.  As far as the transfer to our Foxboro club we were required to give 30 days' notice.  Instead, we gave over 90 days' notice on multiple platforms for all members to be aware that memberships would be transferred to our Foxboro location oif not cancelled by 8/31.  we even waived the 30 da cancelation clause in Dec so members wouldn't be billed after 8/31 if they cancelled anytime in the month we were closing.  as far as the 90-day notice this was provided through multiple emails, through our app, on our website and in club for 90 days prior to our closing.  All members had ample opportunity to properly cancel the account.  this account is now 90 days past due.  I will gladly waive all late fees and service fees if he follows the correct cancelation procedure.

    I do not accept or agree with that. As I should not have to take any further actions on this matter. I canceled my membership with the *************** location where I was a member. Also, I never received any communication in regards to opting out of a membership with Foxboro. Please provide proof that such communication was ever sent to me. Otherwise, I fulfilled my obligation to cancel with *************** and should be done with this.

    if this membership was cancelled as you have said than please provide me with the proof of cancelation and i would be happy to rectify the account.  lastly the notifications we sent out were in multiple ways not just email.  it was posted in the club sent out through the app, posted on our website which you can still see if you go to it. we have the right to transfer your membership per the contract. you have to right to cancel it. so like i said earlier if you cancelled the account than i will gladly rectify the account. if not you would have to pay the amount past due and officially cancel the account. please note the closing of *************** club was also in the sun chronicle newspaper. we were simply required to email and post in club for 30 days. we went well beyond that with over ******************************** more than just the club and through multiple emails.
