I purchased my trip on the black Friday special of 2020. I had received $700 off with the ambassadors discount of $100 off. I was supposed to go to the Greek Islands in August of 2021 but due to switching jobs in May, I could no longer go in August. Contacted the company and had my trip rescheduled for October. Noticed they added an extra $800 on. Tried to contact them through email, their site, and by phone multiple times to no avail. Lost my discounts, I can get over that. My youngest is in the hospital with covid and major breathing issues. I can't go in October. Had them switch my trip to May 1st. Checked my account today and they added $1761 to my trip on top of the $2768 I had already paid. They then stated that they were only putting $1007 of the amount that I had paid to the new date. The trip insurance states that its a $50 fee to change your trip date; NOT $1761. I will also be getting my lawyer involved if they don't issue a full refundBusiness response

Our daughter opted to go on an Education First Tour to ********** in March of 2022, however due to health reasons she is unable to attend. Knowing there was a possibility she would not be able to attend, the $95 cancellation fee insurance we purchased seemed like a small risk in the grand scheme of things considering the amount of the trip. At NO TIME did anyone indicate there is a nearly $500 "insurance" cancellation fee that applies as well. Had we been told this, we would not have even considered EF Tours. EF Tours took advantage of our family and clearly many other families, by omitting the ACTUAL cancellation fees and seemingly making them available after you have purchased the trip. This is false advertisement and theft. I will most definitely be letting our trip leader at our school district aware of the "$95 cancellation protection".Business response

EF Educational Tours travelers are offered travel insurance benefits through a plan provided by ******************* Solutions and underwritten by ************* *********************** Benefits of the policy prior to tour include the ability for a traveler to receive a refund of your program price less non-refundable fees if a traveler needs to cancel from tour due to reasons specified in the policy, which can include but are not limited to serious injury or illness requiring hospitalization and involuntary employer termination or layoff. On tour, the policy provides coverage for incidents such as lost baggage and flight delays as well as coverage of hospital bills, doctors fees, and medical transportation for certain illnesses or injury. Based on the circumstances, travelers who are diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to tour or parents who have recently lost their job may qualify for cancellation coverage.
