I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Dr. ********* Exachos of the Restorative Dental Group of Cambridge, located at ***************************************************, ** *****. I would appreciate your attention to this matter and assistance in resolving the issues I have encountered with this dental provider.Delta Dental recently conducted an investigation into my case, as referenced in the letter with case number *****, dated June 14, 2023. I appreciate the acknowledgement of my concerns. The dental claim history and financial ledger provide clear evidence of the overcharging and incomplete work I have experienced. According to the insurance statement, the approved amount paid for porcelain/ceramic crowns (pay code D2740) on tooth number two and tooth number three should have been $4373.92. However, I was charged an excessive amount of $4954 and paid in full on August 3, 2022 plus a $850 lab fee paid in full October 26, 2022. Moreover, despite numerous attempts to contact the Restorative Dental Group of Cambridge since January 2023, they have refused to complete the service and have ignored my calls and email requests for a refund.Based on the investigation conducted by Delta Dental in March of 2023, I am entitled to a full refund from the Restorative Dental Group of Cambridge with the exception of the root canal on tooth number three. It is worth mentioning that the dentist left a root behind, further compounding my suffering. I had to subsequently pay out-of-pocket to another dentist in full to complete the work because the ******************** would not schedule me to receive my permanent crowns. Additionally, I urge you to address the dental office's refusal to complete the service and their failure to communicate with patients. Who else have they done this to? Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely, ***********************

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. I have left several emails and sent emails without response. They will not refund my money.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/29/2023

The restorative work for teeth #2 and 3 was performed by ******************* pending only the final step of replacing the temporary crowns with the permanent crowns (which have been fabricated). The patient (**************) had arranged an appointment for this but cancelled it, with the intent of rescheduling. The final crowns are still here and ready to be placed. The patient is more than welcome to schedule an appointment to finalize her treatment... A reminder will be sent to the patient in this regard...

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********.

Dr. ******** contacted me for the first time yesterday after months of silence. His previous statement is false. He also accused me of not wanting to be a patient any longer. False.

I made several attempts to schedule an appointment with him since early 2023. My calls were either ignored or answered by your staff with a promise that you would be in touch to approve my request to retrieve the crowns that I paid for.

After Delta Dental concluded their investigation it was determined that my treatment remains incomplete, which entitles me to a refund for the crowns (which I never received) and the lab fees associated with them, totaling $3.037.64

This determination adheres to the regulations stipulated by ************* patients rights and Delta Dentals investigation.

Dr. ********* inability and unwillingness to provide proper care for my teeth forced me to seek help elsewhere. Dr. ********* negligence, coupled with the traumatizing experience I encounter in his office, and unanswered appointment requests left me no choice but to involve the insurance company, the Better Business Bureau, and the ************* Patient Rights advocacy group.

As much as I should appreciate the invitation to come back, he denied me the medical attention I needed and competing this work. I have lost all faith his practice and him as a licensed medical professional.

I simply want my money back and to be done with this horrific  experience I have had with him and his office.

Please reimburse me the $3,037.64 that I am owed so that we can discontinue correspondence and go our separate ways peacefully.

Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
