    DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY The management team is completely unprofessional. They do not answer emails for weeks on end and NEVER answer phone calls.They show up at your front door without warning expected to be let in after explicitly being told to give 24 hours notice to ensure a tenant would be home.They are unwilling to do anything to help or accommodate their tenants.If you see this property management company listed as the owners of a property you are interested in, RUN.They do not care about their tenants at all.

    ******************** - June 23rd & 24th 2025 electricity was out for 1 night & 1/2 day. Kept going back & forth with Nat'l ****** bldg ***** The building is old & needs more maintenance. The building is decaying rapidly since Charlesgate took over just 1 year ago. Management response time is terrible. Washing machines keep breaking down. Smoke detectors beeping for days. Good location - poor management!

    The Property Management team at Charlesgate are excellent. ********/****** have strong communication skills when it comes to problems. They always respond to my inquiries in a timely manner. We appreciate all they do. Its seldom that you find a property manager who takes the time to listen and care and resolve the situations on a moments notice...Kudos to all...*****

    The lack of communication, responsiveness, the run-down apartments, and cancelled work orders is somehow the least of their issues. Our meter reading for our utilities coming back as 500 gallons being used a day when we weren't even in the country, isn't the worst issue. That issue being fraudulently coded on our ledger as unpaid rent, is barely a problem in comparison. The cancelled work orders for broken appliances, water heaters breaking in the winter (Left without hot water for a week), A/C units breaking in the summer, animals nesting in the vents, is almost welcome compared to the MULTIPLE *** busts. Battering rams, guns drawn, assailants jumping from windows. Heaps of weapons and drugs being removed. Cars getting gutted in the parking lot. There used to be a standard to live in these "luxury" buildings, but once CharlesGate took over, all bets were off. They cycle through management, and never update the tenants. I was emailing our manager for 3 weeks, before a neighbor informed me that person was well gone.This experience has been a nightmare, and the safety and security of the residents have been seriously compromised. It's disheartening to witness the deteriorating standards of what was once considered a luxury living space, immediately following CharlesGates take over. The lack of transparency, accountability, and communication from the management has been extremely frustrating. We are left with no choice but to contemplate legal action to address these issues.I urge anyone considering renting from this management company to think twice and thoroughly research their track record. I feel it's my responsibility to share my experiences to ensure others are aware of the potential risks associated with CharlesGate. This has been an unfortunate and deeply concerning situation that I hope no one else has to endure.

    You better hope nothing seriously goes wrong at your property if it's managed by Charlesgate. Since the purchase of my condo in August, the garage door has failed to close properly and has remained open for several days on end, the trash/recycling was not picked up correctly, the gas meters were incorrectly installed, our trash room doors don't open from the outside occasionally, and any attempts to contact our supposed resident representative fall are fruitless. Her phone always goes to voicemail and she doesn't answer her email. The only way you can ever get to talk to another person is to call their "answering service," which is run by a third party whose employees have no idea what the properties are even called or where they are located. Once you contact the answering service you can maybe expect to hear from Charlesgate an hour or two after you file your complaint, if you hear back at all. How they have managed to stay in business is beyond me. As soon as our HOA is up and running I plan on figuring out how to switch management companies on the property.
