I used De ***** Industries for my Bathroom renovation Project Last year. The plan was to renovate three bathrooms. Guest Bathroom with hood in the kitchen and backsplash, Kids Bath, Master Bath The estimate for the entire project with some allocated amount for materials was ******. We were told to keep an additional 10K in mind (A total of 42)Guest Bath with Kitchen project: The estimate was $13,621 We paid a deposit of $13,341 in March 2023.The work did not get started until July of 2023.They started the demolition and we sat with no kitchen ceiling and a broken bathroom for weeks because they did not order any materials on time. After the demolition was started more money was requested and we were told they would not begin any work until we make more payments.Another payment of $6177.75 was made on August 14, 2023.We received a 3rd invoice on August 19 2023 for ******* - There were a few little things left to complete the bathroom work and some finishes related to paint in the kitchen which is not completed to this date.I was told that this invoice has a retainer amount of $6000 which will complete the guest bath and begin the project of the next bathroom.I am yet to receive a receipt explaining where the retainer amount of 6000 was used.We had to stop the project at this point for the following reasons.- We made the total payment of $27493.69 to Dejesus - 1/3rd of the project was completed.-The finishing in the kitchen area is still pending -The materials were not ordered on time and delayed the entire project -We had to return 2 vanities for incorrect size the measurement of which was run by the project manager. -When asked about the details of the retainer amount they started giving us reasons ambiguous to the project. The project manager argued with me saying you are not even spending 1/4th of the cost of the current house for your renovation - There was no clear communication.- I was charged a dumpster fee. However, all the trash was left in my garage and I paid an extra $1000 out of my pocket to get the trash removed.I still do not have the explanation of the retainer 6000 dollars and I was told by the manager that there is no way I will get that money back.I would like to get the refund of the retainer amount of $6000.Attached in the invoice and the payment receipt.

      Hi ***************,

We thank you for sharing your experience with our company and are sorry things did not turn out the way you wanted. We take pride in our reputation and take all our customers concerns and complaints into serious consideration and believe we strongly did just that in your situation. With that said, our records reflect that what you have shared is incorrect and a grossly inaccurate depiction of the events that occurred.

The facts are you were traveling to *****, your husband wasnt informed on the details of your project, you fired your designer, and you wanted to keep costs down, which meant you took on responsibilities such as purchasing your own materials which resulted in your self inflicted experience (which we gave many warnings about). When a customer tries to keep costs down by taking on more responsibility, it may have adverse effects. We are the professionals and its why you hired us. Weve completed your bathroom and it looks phenomenal, which you omitted in your uploaded images along with the rest of the work we did in your kitchen. The photo you shared shows an area that needed to be painted that you did not want to pay to have done.

As for the invoices and the retainers, the details regarding your invoices are beautifully spelled out with timestamps and itemization of charges with descriptions. There should be no confusion with the retainer considering weve had various phone calls and in person meetings attempting to clarify. When your project manager would take time to meet you late after hours, to accommodate your work schedule, you would get disrespectful, raise your voice at him, and wouldnt allow him to understand and address your concerns. You would talk over him and make demands. Unfortunately, that didnt achieve much success for you and you simply didnt like that.

Respectfully, we disagree and have found that weve exhausted all attempts to resolve your concerns.

If you would like to further discuss, please contact me directly.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

The response provided by the Dejesus industries is pertaining to the materials that was bought incorrectly and the time line on the project.

I would like BBB to question them how is that the project estimated to complete at 13K was still not complete when the payment of almost 27K was made.

I have receipts of all the payments made and the estimate given to me of 13K.

I have placed this complain to obtain the retainer money of 6K that is still lying with Dejesus for which I have no invoice or explanation of where the money was spent.

When asked for an explanation on the phone ******* from Dejesus told me clearly that you will not get that money back now matter how much you try.

I was told verbally by *********************** that this will be the retainer money to start your next project.

We were unsatisfied with the work and the communication of Dejesus that we did not want to go ahead with the next project.

The money charged by Dejesus for 1/3rd of the project was 5K short of the estimate we had received for the entire project of 3 baths and kitchen.

Any client who has gone thru the trauma of squeezing more than 80% of the funds in just 1/3rd of the project will get angry when there was no satisfactory explanation given.

This is common situation with Dejesus who had raised hands after doing a demolition that we would not complete any work until the money is released.

When asked a necessary question they run in circles with details unrelated to the problem. This has happened many a times.

Like for example when asked why they did not provide the right measurements they put the blame on the designer who was out of state and us (the clients )  that it was our responsibility.

We had paid the deposit worth 1/3rd of the project and paid another 14K. ******* assured us that the work will be completed with a highly unprofessional manner where there was a lot of yelling involved and ambiguous explanation saying you are not even spending 10% of of your house cost in your renovation and you are complaining about the money you paid us. Which certainly is non of their business as to how much I should spend in my renovation.

I made my decision for the renovation based on the estimate was 32K for 3 bathrooms and Kitchen hood with backsplash and a microwave drawer which was added at a later time.

Please help getting my refund back which is all I am interested in

      Thank You

I have still not received the response regarding my complaint.

Dejesus is claiming once again that they will not return my money for which I have not received any services.

I refuse to work with this company through which I already feel cheated for the amount of money they have charged.

If I were to get back to them to complete my work what is the guarantee that my work will be completed with full honesty.

I would like BBB to inquire about the refund of the retainer money worth 6K that I have not received any services for.

      Please help.
