Before the policy expired, I chose not to renew and obtained new insurance coverage effective 01/28/2025 with Homesite Insurance (Connect).I informed Plymouth Rock in advance, provided proof of my new insurance, and they acknowledged receiving it. Despite this, they billed me $148 for a renewal period starting 02/06/2025after my policy had ended. They continued to send invoices and have now sent this to collections **************************** Ref: 05 0162 *****), causing me undue stress and potential harm to my credit.Desired Resolution:I request Plymouth Rock and their collection agency immediately close this collection account, stop all attempts to collect this improper charge, and provide me written confirmation that my balance is $0.I have attached copies of my new insurance declarations and the collection letter.

    Dear Better Business Bureau:

This letter is in response to the July 10, 2025, inquiry regarding the homeowners policy issued to ***** and ******* ********.

We have insured the Farooquis home since February 6, 2014. On December 28, 2024, the renewal declarations for the February 6, 2025 to February 6, 2026 term was sent to the insureds, followed by an invoice dated January 3, 2025. When we did not receive a payment, a reminder notice was issued on January 25, 2025, followed by a statutory notice of cancellation sent on February 11, 2025. The policy was cancelled for non-payment effective March 8, 2025.

Due to an outstanding balance for earned premium, an invoice for $148.00 was sent on April 11, 2025. A reminder was then sent on May 20, 2025, which noted that the matter might be sent to collections if payment was not received within 30 days.

Review of our records does not show that we received any communication from the insureds concerning a request for cancellation or proof of other coverage between the time of their renewal being sent and our receipt of this inquiry. We contacted the agency of record on July 17, 2025, who confirmed that they had not received a cancellation request from the client, either.

However, now that we have received the proof of other coverage included in the inquiry, we have updated our records to reflect cancellation of the policy effective February 6, 2025, with no balance owed. We also submitted a request to remove the matter from collections.

If you have any further questions, they can be directed to ****** ********* at *******************************************.

    Sincerely,
    ****** *********
