    Ive been a SimpliSafe user relying on their original outdoor cameras and monitoring services for home security. Recently, after upgrading to the Core monitoring plan, I was shocked to find that the two-way audio (microphone/talk) feature on my original outdoor cameras was silently removed and now only works with their newer Outdoor Camera Series 2 on higher-tier Pro plans.This crucial change was never communicated to me before or during the upgrade. Because of this, during a real security incident at my home, I was unable to use the two-way audio to communicate through the outdoor camera when an unknown person was pressuring my wife at our front door. This communication failure created a serious safety risk and undermined the core purpose of having this security system.SimpliSafes lack of transparency on this significant feature removal is deeply disappointing. While emergency dispatch and video monitoring still work on the Core plan, the loss of two-way talk on existing hardware feels like an unfair paywall and hardware lock-in that compromises user safety and trust.I urge potential customers to carefully consider this before upgrading and recommend that SimpliSafe improve disclosure and customer communication around critical feature changes that impact security.

    Do Not Buy This Product Please Read! It Wastes Your Time and Money!We bought a SimpliSafe monitoring system when we moved into our new house, based on the Simple advertisements we saw on TV. The system worked fine at first, but then started having issues. After a lot of back and forth with customer service, the initial problems were eventually resolved.Then we purchased the doorbell, which is definitely a piece of junk. First, it was extremely difficult to install because scanning the barcode was nearly impossible. Once we finally got it installed, it constantly lost connection and failed to record videos.We were told by SimpliSafe that we needed a WiFi booster to improve the connection. So, we spent even more money on a WiFi booster and installed it just a few feet away from the doorbell inside the house. The problem improved slightly but was still unreliable. Sometimes it detected motion; other times it didnt.We spent countless hours on the phone with multiple customer support agents, none of whom were able to fix the issue. Eventually, they sent us a replacementonly for us to discover it was a refurbished unit (seriously?). Unsurprisingly, it still didnt work.The final customer support person escalated the case to higher-level support. He had us check a few settings and told us he would monitor the doorbells performance for a week and then follow up with a call. Of course, there was no call.We have finally given up and will be switching to a different brand.

    The products may be ok - too soon to tell after buying ********************************************************************************* horrendous. I so regret this purchase. Find another company.

    Ive had the outdoor security package for a solid 2 weeks and will be returning it promptly in the morning. Its hard to belive that not a single car, human, or animal hasn't walked by my house in 2 days..ME INCLUED. I stood in front of my " motion detecting camera " and it did nothing, then disconnected from the base. If I wanted a dummy system just to deture the not so brave, harbor freight has a pretty cheap mock up. SIMPLINOTSOSAFE IS AS BAD AS ROKU AND I DIDNT THINK THAT WAS POSSIBLE. GARBAGE. I won't be trying to trouble shoot with a representative because if something were to actually happen, I dont have time to trouble shoot it live action. Quality in everything is garbage anymore. Despicable.

    *** was very argumentative. I advised him of the issues I was having with my system and what troubleshooting I have already done. He dont want to listen and just wanted me to repeat what I have already done. He had a simple answer of the camera was updating but when I advised him the camera goes out multiple times a day he didnt listen. Per his words the camera updates once every two-three months and that what makes it go out. I tried to get him to explain to me why it does it everyday then. He has no explanation. The he advised me that the update would only last 15 mins. I was on the phone with him for 25 mins. Reset the camera and it was still out. That when he wanted to argue. I really hate that I paid and am paying for something that doesnt work.

    I have not had the best experience with SimpliSafe. The first thing is there was a surprise auto-charge of a county fee for registering a system. I was not ever told about this fee until it was already charged on the card I had saved in my account. The battery for my outdoor camera died within 2 months and when I tried to get assistance troubleshooting the battery, the customer service was not good. In fact, despite me being polite, they ended the chat in the middle of our conversation with no resolution. Also, several of the entry points disconnected from the base all at once and I had to reset all of them. The system itself and customer service need work!

    They are a comlete scam. Their equipment does not function as intended, and they refuse to update their security protocals to WPA3. The wireless connection is intermittent when it actually does connect, so there is no assurance that their monitoring service will actually function when needed. ******************.

    This system is pure and utter GARBAGE!!!! Sensors operate on 433 mhz - same as a ton of home electronics. Constant connection issues. Batteries are drained in devices and must replaced near weekly. Today the base lost connection with one of the sensors (out of blue) at 5am and the base woke everyone up at 5 am! What is this garbage? Their customer service is useless!!! This whole system is going back and I cant stress enough that customers should stay away from this garbage!!!!!!!

    ********* their subscription is a scam! I tried to cancel simplisafe when I moved but they talked me into putting it on a 6 month hold, and said that they would notify me when billing resumed. After 6 months I never got a notification or a receipt saying that they were going to start billing me again. They talk you into putting it on a hold so that way they can continue billing you without notifying you. **************** was very unhelpful and rude. Do not recommend!

    Cameras stopped working. You can't talk to a real person. It's all through chat where the agents/bots just give you the same prompts over and over that don't fix the issue. Spent over 7 hours in total on their chat with zero help. Will never use them again.
