I wanted to note this is a review of the parking situation in the ******** area of Seaport ******, specifically on ************* which is owned by the Fan Pier Owners Corporation. I was in the area picking up a to go food order from one of the local restaurants on ************* on a December 2021 evening. I admit I double parked my car to run into the restaurant for an already paid order. When I picked up my food order and returned to the car, 4 minutes later. I was away from my car for a total of 4 minutes. I know the specific time stamps as I was on the phone during this timeframe, tracking the specific start and end time. Once I got back into my car, to my surprise I found a ticket in the corner of my windshield and a local security guard yelling at me and tapping on my window to move. I was a bit frightened, felt threatened, and surprised by this reaction from the local security guard. He would not let me talk and kept yelling at me. Once he was done talking over me, I tried to apologize and explain the situation but he just walked away. I thought this was incredibly rude of the supercity guard, I did not appreciate how I was treated. The following day I further researched the ticket I received which was a $40.00 fine, plus **** processing fee. Online, when attempting to use the 3rd party website to view the ticket, it stated there were 2 photos on file. However, I was unable to view the files due to a database error noted on the website. How can you advertise photos and not provide or share them. I filed an appeal to protest the ticket, however, i received a auto response 2 hours later via email advising my appeal was denied. No explanation, just denied. I understand and acknowledge I was double parked, however, not the only one. I saw cars double parked sitting when I arrived and as I was leaving. Why didnt they get any tickets as well? They were not being yelled at like I was. Are there not any warnings or attempt to approach me to speak with me and coach me I am not able to park in this specific area? There were no signs that stated I was unable to park in the area. I was not blocking in any cars in a spot. It was the side of the road. I even went back to the area several times and purpose double-parked in the same spot while waiting in my car to see if any security approached me. Not once did anyone approach me. So I circle back to, why did I suddenly get a parking ticket so quickly and why was the security guard so rude? For the business, ********, how do you expect your local businesses to stay in business if customers are unable to pick up food from these restaurants. There are such great eatiers in the area, however, no parking at all. Nothing reasonable for the average customer to run and pick up food. I wont even attempt to mention the delivery apps/businesses trying to keep local restaurants in business during these troubling times. I live locally, about 5 minutes away in the area. I acknowledge I double parked, but at least give a warning for a first time offender, especially for 4 minutes on a non busy side street. I do not have any record or any priors. To treat a customer like this is shocking to me and I do not want to attend any shops in the area because of it. I have never seen or heard of anything like this. I have met several security guards in the past in the area who were pleasant to talk to and ask questions to. I will be sharing my experience with many others to look out for this rude threatening security guard as I do not want to give a bad rep to everyone, that is not fair. To everyone reading this message, please be on the lookout. The corporation does not care about you or the customers serving their tenants. Be aware! I just feel bad for the local businesses losing out.
