THE INTERNATIONAL GOLF CLUB (IGC) FILES FOR CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY
On May 4, 2020, The International Golf Club (IGC) and its affiliated companies filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Our financial restructuring team includes its Chief Restructuring Officer, Craig Jalbert of the accounting firm Verdolino & Lowey, P.C., and law firm, Murphy & King, P.C. They will ultimately present a plan to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to address the IGC's debts and the properly handling membership fees and event deposits. The IGC is actively seeking a buyer to acquire all of IGC's assets and resume operations of our championship golf course and premium event facilities.
It is necessary that during this period that the golf course and all event and other facilities remain closed.
It is our expectation that all claims of golf members, event clients and vendors will be addressed and resolved in accordance with a plan approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Questions about these claims may be sent to [email protected].
Additionally, because all large-scale events are currently suspended in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our recommendation that all clients with events that were scheduled with the IGC consider making alternate arrangements at this time.
