Schedule an emergency repair for a broken **** system during extreme heatwave. I explained that it was for an elderly family member who needed us to act as a translator to help him, and that temperature in his apartment was 90 degrees. Technician visit was scheduled for 12 PM - 2 PM on 8/25/22. NOBODY showed up. I repeatedly called because we were very concerned for his safety, and was told the technician had been in the area at 7 AM but decided not to show up at the scheduled time, and there were no openings again until the next day. The rescheduled visit was for 8/26 at 8 AM. The next morning the technician arrived at 7:30 AM, but after about 15 minutes he said the problem could not be fixed until some ice melted. He then said we would need to reschedule another follow up, and we were charged $325. Again I repeatedly called to ask when the technician would follow up to repair the **** system, and finally had a scheduled follow up for 2 PM. NOBODY showed at 2 PM. After having to call again and change personal appointments we were told a technician was on his way and would be there at 3 PM. Once again nobody showed at 3 PM... at which point I called and was told he was stuck in traffic. The technician finally arrive at 4:30 PM and said he "added 3 pounds of refrigerant" to the condenser, and charged an additional $105. He then explained this would "probably not fix the problem" and and that it may be very expensive to diagnose and repair and may be due to a leak. The **** system failed again the next day and we noticed there was even more water pouring out of the vent onto the carpet and walls. The temperature again was 85 degrees in his apartment. We had to quickly find a different company to actually repair the problem, and informed us that the problem should have been easily repaired. We were very upset with the extremely negligent and irresponsible service from MacCormack and would like a full refund.
