I would give this Company 0 stars if it were an option. New Yorker ************** had sent me a replacement boiler to replace my original boiler, which was still under warranty when it broke down. I had the replacement New Yorker Boiler go to Winsupply in ********** **, when it arrived there, Mr. ******************** never notified me that it had arrived at Winsupply, nor did the supply house notify me. He had taken my boiler without my permission and had it sent to his place of business in Assonet **., I had no contract with this company to install my replacement boiler, never signed anything, he only initially came to my property when I had the leak and was there for all of 20 minutes. When he quoted me a price of $3500 dollars just for labor, which was extreme, I knew I would not be using him for the installation, because I had contacted several other Plumbing and heating contractors and was told the price he quoted me just for labor was ridiculous. When I contacted him in regard to him taking my boiler, he told me if I wanted my equipment that I needed to go to his place of business to pick it up and give him a cashier's check or a money order in the amount of $597.00 for the time he invested, which is insane, because I made all the calls to the company in regards to the broken boiler and they finally agreed to send me a replacement boiler free of charge. Now I have to get the police involved, because he is holding my boiler hostage at his place of business and is trying to extort money from me. I was told by the ***************** that It is illegal for anyone to take and hold another persons property in lieu of any monies. It's a criminal offense and considered larceny and if he does not return the boiler to where he had taken it from that he will be charged with *******. The supply house is also to blame for releasing a customers property without any authorization from the customer or asking him to produce a signed contract by me proving that he was hired to do the work.
