My wife hired C&A Home Solutions to clean our chimney and to install a pest guard on the top of the chimney to prevent wasps from entering our home through the chimney. She saw an add in the Services section of the Baton Rouge Advocate and spoke to Mr. ***** ********** - 225/XXX-XXXX. The company sent out a service technician ******** to conduct the work. During the cleaning, he indicated the chimney walls were cracked and needed repair for an additional $200 fee. The cleaning and crack repair were conducted on 1/17/22 and the services were paid for by check #2670 for $415.00. ******* indicated he needed a taller ladder and would be back on 1/19/22 to install the pest guard. He came back to our residence on 1/19, but my wife noticed the ladder he had was still several feet too short to reach the top of the chimney. A few minutes later, ****** knocked on the door and indicated the pest guard had been installed by crimping a mesh screen similar to chicken wire over the top of the chimney pipe - which is not visible from the ground. He was paid an additional $180 on 1/19/22 for this work - check # 2671. A few days later, we had more wasps entering the house through the chimney. We were able to borrow a drone with a camera, and took pictures of the top of the chimney exhaust - there was no pest guard. My wife called Mr. ********** - and sent him the picture verifying there was no pest guard - he told her he would be out on the next Thursday to install one. When he didn't show, my wife called him and he told her he was at the Dr.'s office with Covid. After 10 days, I called him back and he said he would be at our house on Saturday, 3/5 to install the pest guard and would send a picture for verification. Again, he didn't show, and now **** not return text or phone calls from me or my wife.
