November 2nd 2022, I paid half of the total payment (4,812.50) to ******* at Louisiana Chimney Services to pay for supplies and a deposit on the work to remove and replace our current chimney insert and to add a chimney cap and fireproofing in the attic. On January 4th, 2023 ******* said he would be out in the next 10 days or so to begin the removal of the current chimney insert and brick arch. Eventually because of weather, he came out on February 21st to begin the work. He hurt himself, and returned to work more on the removal of the unit on March 22nd. Told us he would return that Friday, but did not return again until May 24th. Because he had a hard time getting a mason to do the work he needed help with. On the 24th he did no work. June 1st claimed he got in contact with another mason that he never heard back from. At the end of July, contacted another mason that eventually came by the house on August 14th. They played phone tag according to *******, finally connected on the 16th. and planned to work together that next week. After that contact, we have not heard from ******* since we have sent dozens of texts and emails and called him just as many times. We still have not heard from him since August. He is still in possession of the chimney insert and the chimney cap that he bought with our payment. And has left rented scaffolding at our house since February. We would prefer obviously the completment of the job but at this point we just want the supplies we paid for.
