- Additional Info:On 4/08/2014, an investigation was conducted by the BBB of Central La. and the Ark-La-Tex when one of our Accredited Businesses called us to state that a woman from Florida had received a letter from Con-Safety Instant Reply Mystery Shopping Company with a check that was issued with his business name on it. She knew it was a scam and thought the business needed to know. He contacted his bank and then contacted the BBB.
The business was contacted by phone and mail. When BBB Staff did get a person to answer the phone call, his name was Timothy Derry and he instructed our staff member to go to the bank, deposit the check and call him tomorrow from Walmart for the job assignment and what to do with the Green Dot card that would be purchased. When asked why the check was written under a different business name and not Con-Safety, he told our staff member that they were the ones hiring them to do the mystery shopping.
The business failed to respond by mail to the BBB's request for information.
