I made an 8am appt to get a backup camera installed in my truck. Estimate given was $375-380. I arrived on time and left my truck. I was told at that time it was a half day job. I planned my day around about a half day. At 2:45, they call me asking where I wanted my screen mounted. I asked what were my options and they tell me depending on size of the screen it would be different prices. Then he advised he would call me back before installing the screen and we could decide then where to mount the screen. He also advised my truck should be ready at 4pm. By 3:35 pm, having yet received a return call, I decided to go to business anyway. Upon arrival, I walk in The door and a customer is telling "Trey" not to worry about it, that it would be Ok. At the same time, a "Mike" at the counter tells me that my cost is $500. I ask Trey to step outside so we could talk alone. He agreed and i introduced myself & told him who recommended I bring my business to him. I then relayed to him to erroneous estimate I was given, the half day job projection which turned into a full day PLUS some, and the phone call I DID NOT receive before they mounted the screen. He immediately asked me to come to the back to my truck where the screen was already mounted in the middle of my dashboard. He started to explain why it was there and what he recommended. I politely told him that if his people would have called me back as they said, they would have learned that the LAST place I wanted it was the middle of the dashboard where the put it! Trey then got aggravated at ME, the customer, and said, "...then where do you want it ??!!...". At that point I had run out of patience and replied for them to just leave it where it was and I walked outside. After sitting outside,"Mike" came out and started apologizing for all that had gone wrong with estimate, taking all day with no courtesy call, and no return call about placing my screen. I explained to him that I understood but that shouldn't affect customers.
