I purchased solar panels and a backup battery from this company approximately 1 year ago. They had them installed quickly although there was a mound of cigarette butts left in my yard during installation. I cant complain about the day-to-day operation of the panels and powering my house. However, the system doesnt switch to battery like it should when the power goes out. I spoke with them about this problem on multiple occasions through email and the phone. All of a sudden my emails to them started getting bounced back. The phone number listed here and on their website stopped working. I also had the phone number for two peoples cell phones. Those stopped working too (past couple of months). I went to their massive storefront the claim to have in *******. The place is completely EMPTY. They stole $30K from me.

Well the transaction was made in November of 2024. Spartan installed some solar panels on the roof of my house, plus the solar system box. To me it is not working properly okay. Now in the contract they told me they would install a plug so I can use a generator. Now they are telling me I have to come up with $750 dollars.

Contract with a sales rep Chris ****** , representing Spartan Solar - Renovations in early 2023.. After extensive review and discussion, back and forth with Spartan engineers according to rep, I was sold a 32 panel array of the highest efficiency panels. I was told the installation would be enough to cover two meters at my property, and after providing multiple copies of Entergy bills for both meters, I was assured that I would be paying no electrical fees on those bills any more. This was estimated at a total of over $600 a month in electrical that would be covered. I was told the install would include monitoring system, upgrade to efficiency in my ac condensers, and that it would be prompt and efficient. To date I do not have Solar to both meters, only one, I do not have enough energy to provide enough for the one meter that is connected. I do not have upgrades to the condensers, I do not have the monitoring system. I do not have a "Spartan "Eco Saver" specified. I am not getting the 20K KWH estimated production specified. Spartan disavows their sales rep, and tries to blame everything on him. Installation process was lengthy, problematic, troublesome. I did not get the first credit from solar until June of 2024. Numbers I was given to call, or text for service issues at Spartan went unanswered, then Michael M******* of Spartan denied them. the company is very difficult to reach, and when reached, very slippery. I would not recommend anyone do business with them on anything, particularly Solar. I am now being forced to pay for an alternate company to come and review , fix and replace the errors and omissions of Spartan.

I have been waiting on a reimbursement since August 2024. I have been told I would receive the payment as recently as January 17, 2025. I have been communicating via text message and email so I have documented proof of our communication. I emailed Spartan Finance after I did not receive payment on January 17 and my emails have been ignored. I would like them to pay the promised amount for the Radiant Barrier and the reimbursement for Good Leap Monthly Payment.

Her house has insulation that's installed matching the contract and the reimbursement she is looking for wasn't in the contract but more of a kind gesture to pay her some money back to be happy overall. We need this homeowner to register with Zelle in order to send the payment over or we can send a certified check in the mail. I will check with the finance dept to resolve but this shouldn't be a BBB complaint as the contract was fulfilled and met. She's referring to the finance company that is a separate entity from our install company that charged her but we kindly offered to remedy the issue for her so that she was happy.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 22894792, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

I am already registered with Zelle and I have been told a payment was coming by certified mail before and still haven’t received anything which is why I made the complaint.

The sales person is ***** *******. The problem is we do not have the solar panels approved yet. We called Service Finance and explained that we have no service till this day. Service Finance sent Spartan a complaint and nothing has changed. Our credit has been damaged because we supposed make payments to Service Finance, were still paying energy so our electricity can remain on.We cant afford to pay both. We asked them to remove the panels but they refused. Please Help. Thanking You In Advance.

      Hello,

This homeowner has failed utility inspection due to being unresponsive and not being able to access the property so that this homeowner can have their system turned on. Spartan Renovations has tried calling this homeowner to resolve multiple times. At this point Spartan isn't the root of the problem causing the homeowners Credit to be messed up and or the reason for the homeowner not having access to solar power. We at Spartan take pride in all of our homeowners and would like to extend our hand to assist further in this situation considering their may be a misunderstanding that spartan is just the install company, Service finance is the lender for payment and Entergy Louisiana has been trying to resolve the current inspection status so that the homeowner can have access to solar power on their home. As far as the BBB complaint the Installer is the middle man part of the solar process which would then leave us at a very stressed situation considering the contract has been fulfilled by Spartan Renovations but by no means will we not extend our hand to resolve for all parties. ***** ******* isn't on our payroll at our company and we do have sales teams that are 1099 sole companies who sell contracts to us and then we install the solar panels from that point.

      Thank you,
