    This is a HORRIBLE PLACE to deal with. I got there before 11 am and checked on with the kiosk, only to find out that you NEED AN APPOINTMENT or get put on stand by. The next available appointment wasn't until 2:10 pm. Having been fasting, there was no way I could wait another 3 hours to eat. I chose to be put on stand-by. There were 5 people ahead of me, stating wait times could be 30-60 minutes, which I accepted. I was #6 on the stand by. Within the 1 1/2 hour I spent there, the room eventually flooded with people, none of the stand-by's were called and they barely took anyone in. People with appointments to drop off a specimen had to wait extremely long times as well. A staff member came out to tell a walk in that there was no guarantee that stand by would be seen and that the only way was IF an appointment didn't show up. None of us were aware of that until then. I decided to look for another location to which I was able to set an appointment for 12:50. I also noticed on screen I was bumped from 6 to 7. I chose to sit and wait it out before leaving to make that other appointment. By 12:30, not one stand-by had been called in. I told a few others in the room that there was another location on Metairie Rd. that I was able to get an appointment with way sooner, so I left and went to the other, to which I only had 2 people ahead of me and was seen within under 10 minutes. I was seen promptly and treated courteously. One other person followed to that location. We both conversed about how rude and how inefficient the Veterans location is. It's like they were punishing us for not making an appointment. Both of us were seen right after the other. I'm glad she decided to follow suit. The service, wait time and hospitality was so much better. Why they ever decided to go to an appointment system, clearly does not work. It's a horrible system. For decades I've dealt with Quest and never needed an appointment. Just sign in and WHOMEVER the next on the list was seen.
