We had solar installed on our home. ADT was our installer and said they would monitor our system for 1 year to see if we needed additional panels. Over the year we never heard from them. We recently had issues with our solar gateway not connecting only to find out ADT went out of business and told no one. They have left customers scrambling for service and footing the bill to have someone else look at their system. Our electric bill is just as high as before solar and we have no where to turn since they took everyone's money and ran. We were guaranteed to have almost all our power be Covered by the system. And if not they were to come evaluate if we needed more panels. They did none of what was promised and now we are stuck with a $25000 system and still paying 275 a month for an electric bill on top of the solar loan.Initial Complaint

Shady salesman tactics, will lie to you to get you into a contract you can't get out of. I am stuck paying a solar loan and electric bill. Everything the salesman told us was a lie. We had solar panels installed in 2022 at our home here in **. by a company called SolarPro. *** took them over after that date. Several weeks ago, we developed a leak in our attic which broke through the ceiling. I read that *** had agreed to honor the warranty for any company they take over. I have a 10 year warranty in my SolarPro contract. I called ADT numerous times and was told I should fill out a form and someone would get back to me. I bought solar panels about 4 years ago from a company called SunPro Solar. All of a sudden it switched to ADT Solar. Since day one i have had problems with the panels. My bill was always higher then what i was promised it was going to be. I was told i would only have a connection fee through **** which would be around ***** dollars a month. I have had a power bill of over 150 every month since i got the panels put on. that's not including the 191 i pay a month for the panels. now i am paying over 400 a month for just power. i live in a 1400 square foot house. My average power bill before i got them on was around *******. There is no way to contact the ADT Solar company. When you look online it states they do not service residential Solar customers. The only way to contact them is through the virtual chat with an agent who does not even handle anything to do with the solar part. My grandmother and brother went through the same company and all of us are having the same issue. We were all lied to when we got the panels. it has been a struggle for all of us since we got them on. The solar panels do absolutely nothing but cost us more money a month. It was suppose to bring my monthly bills down which was the only reason i got them but instead its more than doubled it. We all need help with this company. None of us were ever told that by gettting these panels it would be considered a second loan on our mortgage. i would have never done that if i knew that. Now i owe ****** on panels that do nothing for my house and if i dont pay them i could lose my house.Initial Complaint

I need to close my account with ADT because I have sold my home. ADT charged me with $375.15 because they claim that on 24 September 2024, I signed up for a loyalty program. That is NOT true. I spoke with their accounting **** twice on 17 Jan 25, but they refused to help me. On 20 Jan 25 I spoke to ***** in their customer support section for nearly one hour while he researched my account. He could not find any order nor confirmation of an order for a loyalty program and told me that the charges would be dropped. Since that time, I have had three mailings from *** to pay the $375.15. The last one arrived today. I believe in addition to an incorrect charge, this is also a case of Elder Abuse because is upsetting me so much that I can't sleep at nights when I receive the bills in which they demand that I have to pay immediately. I am an 84.5 year old woman with diabetes, a heart and kidney condition, I need your help badly. Please note that my husband died 8 years ago of injuries from his time in the service in ********. In Oct 2024 my contract was complete for ***. I contacted them to terminate services. The person I spoke with got me to stay with this business at a reduced rate of $24.99 a month instead of $64.99. A following month I was billed once again at $64.00. I contacted *** once again on November 15th. From what the person stated, the rate was not changed. The representative apologized and credited my account of the difference. She next attempted to lock me in another contract. I told her no. In January 2025 I started receiving calls stating my account was past due. I logged into my account to make a payment and realized I was being charged $64.99 once again despite this being changed twice. I next received a bill by mail verifying that the account was not changed to the amount promised. I called again on 02-05-2025 (today) and spoke with billing. I was next transferred to accounts where I spoke with someone who stated her name was Z. She looked up the notes and saw the rate I was supposed to be paying. She assured me she was making the changes to reflect the $24.99. Once again, I was asked to be locked into a contract. I told her no. She said okay and immediately transferred me to ******* in billing. ****** stated he was attempting to review the charges and credit me the amount that was already paid. This person left me on hold and did not return to the line. I stayed on hold for about an hour in total. *** is acting shady in their business. They are trying to make me pay an amount even after I attempted to terminate services. They promised me a rate and switched it. They are charging me for stuff that is not agreed upon. I entered into a two year contract with ADT on 9-29-2021 for $63.99 per month. After the two years was up I called to cancel but they told me I couldn’t cancel without a penalty because I entered into to a 36 month contract. I would have never entered into a contract for that long. I expressed this to ADT and they basically dismissed it and said I could pay a penalty and get out of the contract. I’ve continued to receive bills from them and have called a couple of times informing them that I won’t pay this bill because that is not the agreement I entered into. After reviewing the contract on their website I realized that the signature on the document IS NOT my signature or initials. When I initially signed the contract I did it on the salesman’s iPad, so although it is an electronic signature it was MY signature. I was also supposed to be emailed a copy of the contract, which I never was and when I asked about it they told me I could find out in their website.
I just received another past due bill for $642.19.
I would like them to erase this debt and make sure this isn’t on my credit report. I’d also like them to refund my $343.49 that they withdrew in the past year that was past the original 2 year contract I originally signed.
I moved at the beginning of 2024 and ADT called me to see if I wanted to set up service at my new location and I said no and explained the situation to the salesperson but they couldn’t help me either,Initial Complaint

Purchased solar for my home and barn on 3/4/21 from SunPro. The home solar was finished installed in Sept of 2021, the barn was not completed until Oct of 2021. The first loan payment for home solar was paid 8/30/21 and the first payment on barn solar was 10/21. It was explained to us that it would take some time for the solar panels to really start working to capacity. So we continued to get electric bills for both along with paying the payment. Twice during this time the we did receive a credit on the home electric bill. The barn has continued to have a large electric bill, no change. We did put in a complaint to Enphase the company that monitors the systems. Enphase was only monitoring the home not the barn. We did not realize until sometime in 2022 that *** had purchased SunPro Solar and started their own ADT Solar. We did complain to ADT Solar that something was not right because we continue to receive electric bills along with paying payment. We finally got a ADT repair person out in the Fall of 2023. He looked at home solar found something not right and said he fixed it. (definitely not fixed). He went to the barn and checked on it and discovered that the installers had not finished connecting to the system so it NEVER worked until repair person connected it. But it still needed a "internet connection box" which ADT should provide according to repair person and he said he would put in his report a request for this item. We never got one. So to bring us current, we tried contacting ADT Solar and found out it no longer exists at least according to the recorded message you get when you call. So we did their online request for help, which was a waist of time, we got a computer generated stock reply that was of no help. We stopped paying our loan payments for the solar equipment, which got the banks attention and they want to know what we are doing to resolve this issue, because they cannot help, but want their money. I recently called *** to cancel our alarm monitoring service on 10-21-24. My husband and I have been loyal customers since ******** years) to *** and their predecessor, ******. I had paid my last bill on time and was paid through 11-2-24. I was told that it would take an additional 30 days to stop the service and that I would receive another bill. I disagreed with that practice and was advised that I could dispute the bill (which is $40.94) when it came in which is what I have done. I called ADT to complain that my billed amount should have stopped on the day that I called and that ADT owed me for 12 days of service since I had prepaid. According to their representative during my last phone call, the account has been sent to collections. I requested a mailing address to send a formal letter of complaint but was not given one. I am requesting a refund of 12 days of service for account ******** and that the collection process be discontinued. My one month of service bill was $68.23 and my cancellation number is #********. I have never heard of a company that tries to charge customers for one additional month of service after requesting that it be discontinued and wonder if this is against the law. If this is not resolved quickly, I will need to turn this over to my attorney. Thank you in advance for looking into this.
