On June 24, 2025, I brought my son's 2015 Infiniti to [Business Name] for service. I was told by ****** there would be a $100 diagnostic fee. At drop-off, I shared that I had already scanned the vehicle and received code P1217 (overheating). Soon after, a male employee called and quoted over $430 to replace the thermostat. When I asked about a full diagnostic and other possible issues, he admitted they only checked the overheating problem. I requested a complete diagnostic report and declined the service due to the cost. He then offered to do the repair for $318, which I accepted.Later, he called to say the issue wasnt the thermostat but an improperly installed radiator hose clamp (about $5). He recommended an oil change and sent a quote for $330.76. I called back to ask why the cost increased despite doing less work. He blamed it on system input errors. The updated quote still listed the original issue. After another revision, it included a clamp replacement with 0.5 hours of labor at $175/hour and the oil change. I paid the $308.21 to avoid further ******** son picked up the car and drove it for one day before it overheated again. I had to pick him up after midnight and leave the car in a public lot. We returned the vehicle the next day (Friday), but didnt hear from the shop until I called the following Tuesday. The same employee said they couldnt determine or fix the issue. He couldnt explain what was wrong, despite the diagnostic ****** this point, I believe the business misdiagnosed the issue, charged for unnecessary repairs, and failed to deliver the agreed-upon services. I suspect they didnt even examine the vehicle the second time. Im requesting a refund of the diagnostic fee and a partial refund for the faulty service. I also urge the BBB to investigate this businesss practices.
