Blackburn Group LLC has abandoned a home repair project without completing the project and **** ********* (owner) has communicated that his is going to place a lien on our home. Blackburn group LLC has violated the LA mechanics lien laws. First and foremost they never provided us with a notice to lien rights, nor did they have us sign one; which is required by law. They also had me sign a contract on behalf of my husband and myself. Nowhere in the contract that we signed did we they include the following which is required by law. - Name and address of the persons entering into the contract - Name of the project and legal description of the property where the work is being performed - Price of the work being performed or method by which the price is to be calculated and estimate - Schedule of payments - General terms of the contract - Signature of the owner and contractor He began the project in our yard in September of 2021. We still have a rock pit in our backyard; all which are building materials he used and were not in our yard prior. He refuses to remove the rocks and has threatened us multiple times to pay him the final amount due. We have not been able to utilize our backyard for 7 months because it is a safety hazard for our children and our pets.
