Yesterday, 3/12/25, I received a statement from GreenSeason Baton Rouge for $85.95. This was for Spring Core Cultivation. I called the company which now goes by the name of Corporate Green to ask why I was charged for the aeration. I spoke to a Lisa and she told me that there had been a glitch in their billing system at the end of 2024 and the letters that had been sent to some customers had not shown the aeration on the invoice, which I had paid in full, $303.60. I explained to her that since 2022 that this had been part of the yearly plan and thought they had reduced their yearly charge. She told me they only know when the aeration is done that a customer had not paid it because it was not on their yearly bill and have to now charge us for it. I told her that we the customer should not be charged for a mistake they did without notifying the customer that they will have to pay an extra, $85.95, if the aeration is performed. I then told her that since it was a mistake they made, that the customer should not be expected to pay after being blindsided and she then told me that they would be willing to give a "free" aeration in the fall if I paid the $85.95. I told her they should count this as the "free" aeration and remove the charge from my account. She told me they couldn't do that. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the manager. After some more conversation on how the customer should not be blind-sided by an extra charge, that they could cancel my service for the rest of the year, deduct the $85.95 from what I had already paid for the yearly service, and send me a check for the difference. She agreed to do this. As a business, they should try to make their customers feel appreciated instead of getting to the point where you feel the best option is to cancel them. Also, in looking at the statement they mailed me, it shows I had a balance of 265.65 less an 85.95 deduction with $179.70 balance. So the free fall aeration offered is a con.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/13/2025

I spoke with our client and apologized for the issue that occurred. We came to an understanding. He doesn't have to pay for the aeration and he wants to continue his regular service.

If there are any issues in the future, please let us know and I will help.

I have been a Green Seasons residential customer for seven years, at a cost of well over $600/month. Prior to that time, I personally maintained my lawn and landscaping. Over the years I have noticed a gradual loss of both my grass coverage and a degradation of shrubs, ornamentals and flower beds. Verbal complaints to field managers over that time did nothing to resolve this problem. A recent review of photos of my yard taken prior to 2017 confirmed the above issues. Consequently, I've asked Green Seasons to cancel my contract without the associated financial penalty it requires. After an initial assurance that this would likely be acceptable to management, I've heard nothing from them. I'd very much like a positive response, but as a long-time customer, I think I at least deserve a timely reply one way or another. Alternatively, I will pursue relief from the contract by the means described in it.
