On September 13, 2023, I contracted Austin Construction out of Winchester, KY to build a 16' x 24' outbuilding and provide a concreted driveway up to that building. It was agreed that the building and driveway would completed within 60 days from that date. It is now August 3, 2024 and the building is no where near completed. Items remaining to be done include completion of insulation, guttering, finishing of drywall, hookup of electricity and installation of all electrical components, hookup of water and installation of a garage door. In addition, there are large chunks of cured concrete lying in several spots of the yard left over from having bricked the structure. Additional cleanup of the yard is also pending. So far, I have paid Austin Construction $35,000 towards the completion of this structure and as of yet have nothing usable. In addition, the concrete floor of the structure is already presenting cracks in multiple spots. As our home is in a subdivision with an Home Owners Association, I have already been approached by the HOA in regards to the state of the yard and the building.

I contracted Austin Construction in good faith as they were the builder of our home, but have been sorely disappointed in doing so. I have made well over on hundred calls and texts with M** ***** ****** and have been told repeatedly that the work will be done, only to be disregarded. I have tried to be patient with Mr. Austin but am now at the point of seeking a legal conclusion to our agreement in which I intend to ask for all funds paid to Austin Construction to be returned.

I am of retirement age and this was to be a small workshop in which to spend some of my remaining years but the stress of the past year from this project have led me to contemplate simply having it destroyed.

While I understand the BBB cannot force Austin Construction to do anything, I would sincerely appreciate any assistance that can be offered in this matter. *** *****
