In June 2023, we signed a contract to build a home, from footers up. The first board wasn't laid until September. We were told the house would be done before the holidays. We paid every draw on time, the work was shotty. We fired the contractor. We have to pay for our own subs and replace roofing. There has been no attempt to make things right, avoidance is the game. I have text, email, photos, and voice messages to prove we have been wronged.

“In April 2023, ****** ******** and ****** ******** entered into a construction contract with Secure Structure for construction of a new home.  On or about December 6, 2023, ******** was presented a regular invoice for material, labor, and fees advanced by/owed to Secure Structure and third-party suppliers.  On December 26, 2023, ******** agreed that: (i) the invoiced amount was correct; and (ii) the amount owed exceeding $48k would be paid to Secure Structure on or before 12/31/23.  ******** never paid.  On February 13, 2024, Secure Structure filed a proper mechanics lien.  Three (3) days later, ******** responded by filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.”

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because it is not fully accurate and no resolution or apology for grievance is apparent.  Furthermore,  the business fraudulently filed a lien on my property.

While an invoice was presented on December 6, it came with a note saying that we were being billed for past services. We asked for copies of invoices to prove charges, and many were not able to be produced. The roof that we paid for was never completed and we had to pay for a replacement of metal and labor to a second vendor, to prevent structural water damage.

There were delays with completion of our home that were never communicated. We live on the property so we know when work is being done. Several mistakes were made and we do not feel we should pay for those reworks. For example, should a sledge hammer be used to straighten a bowed external wall? That's what happed to our build. We brought it to the attention of *** *********  when one of the subs called us to tell us what he witnessed.

We were told on many occasions by *** ******** that our project "didn't make any money" for the company.  Furthermore,  *** ******* told my husband in person at the end of December that "all vendors were paid in full" and there were no outstanding invoices. After that, he filed a lien on our property. Based on the invoices he did provide,  we are owed approximately $14k. We will not pay a drawdown for jobs not completed or even initiated. If *** ******* can provide invoices, as we rightfully requested, then we will pay what we owe. But not a penny more.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ********
