I have been keeping this customer informed about his order. He called quite often and I would help. He was set on getting it before the company could manufacture the product. Since it was custom it takes longer and this time of year they are slow in producing the product. Hw said he did not believe we had the product as we told him we did. He came into the showroom and we showed him the material. He was fine with how we were going to handle it. We even told him we would drop it off. All was good. After that meeting he called and wanted to pick it up. It was a Friday when he called and we were out of town for a funeral. I called the next Monday morning to tell him we were coming to drop it off at no charge. He was very upset and went on and on. We have the product and he can pick it up or we will deliver it anytime. I told him this many times. It has been in our shop for a while. Thx

October 10, 2023:Bought ********* patio enclosure from **** ******* 50% downpayment ($4,000) CHECK required & was cashed same day. Target installation: 6 weeks.
Oct 11- Feb 12:Ignored my countless texts, calls, & emails about delivery status. Worried about fraud, I sent a letter requiring proof of his purchase from Mfgr or a refund by January 11, 2024.
Feb 12: **** denied receipt of that email & certified mail.
Feb 2:Installed.
I've reported the warranty work needed. Enclosure initially leaked, 2 windows slide down opening "at will", & door sticks. Workers sealed leaks but didn't address the issues above.
Since Feb 2 I contacted him many times requesting the remaining repair work be done. He scheduled once, & left me waiting all day. He was a no-show.
April 2:Was told the enclosure is designed to withstand hurricanes. During a storm, 3 windows blew out (on opposite side of enclosure from other problems). I sustained damage on my patio.
April 3:Again, he ignored my efforts to reach him to do repairs. Therefore, I texted saying I'd reached my limit & would take action. My text resulted in him calling and us being in a screaming match. Horrifying!
April 4: He came & verified 2 windows need tightening.
He opened, shut, and beat his fits extremely hard (scaring me) on windows that blew out (I noted he was beating in the opposite direction of the wind). He DENIED the windows could blow out.
He gave demonstrated how to open & close a window. I assured him it was within my skill set.
Before departing he said he would repair the 2 loose windows & door the following week (w/o 4/8
Feb 2 - May 9:Ignored continued requests to do repairs.
April 30:Sent pic of my smashed, bleeding finger from the window falling open. No response.
May 8:I sent a text saying I'd take action. He responded. Yet after asking him, "What day & time will you come", 3x he ignored me & hasn't responded yet.
I want the repair work to be done CORRECTLY, or compensationBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because: no solution was offered and no action was taken to repair the ********** $8000.00 enclosure - covered under its warranty. In Allied Aluminum's response below, she chose to single out ONE of the multiple examples of bad behavior and poor business practices I articulated in my complaint and did not address the issues at hand; honor the warranty by repairing the $8000.00 ********** enclosure.
ALLIED ALUMINUM provided a warranty when the ********** enclosure was installed and is currently in BREACH of that CONTRACT.
THE DOOR HAS TO BE KICKED TO GET IT OPENED AND THE WINDOW FALLS DOWN.
The $8000.00 ********** ENCLOSURE was installed on FEB 2 and it is now JUNE 20.
Dave Wilmes continually ignores my calls, letters, emails, and texts. My experience is documented in this thread.
I will take further action.

10/25/23 - Ordered and paid (Check ****** for Storm Door to be made and installed. After no notice of the door having been built, I sent Emails to the address on the attached business card (********************************** with no response. I called the office (************* on 3/11/24 and was informed that my door has been in stock for some time. I also was told that ***** ****** *** would contact me, which he did not. I called the office again on 3/18/24 and ***** ****** answered the phone. He told me that the installation would occur on 3/21/24 at 11AM. At 12 noon I called the office again and as told that he was out of town. The reason for the problem was given as the lack of employees. After no response again, I called again on 3/27/24 that went to Voicemail. On 3/28/24 I went to the office on W. Market Street in Louisville, KY. No one was there or responded to the doorbell. Then I called the office from my mobile phone and the same lady ***** ******** gave me the same answer that ***** *** was out of town again until Monday. I requested a refund because, even if the installation is performed by make-shift employees, who is going to address any Warranty claims? With that in mind, I requested a refund even though they have paid for the door.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: As stated in my response, I called the office on 3/11/24 and was informed that the door had been in stock for some time (4 1/2 half months after ordered/paid in full). On 5/1/24, I went to the office site with a friend. After much verbal confrontation with *** ******* we took the door and he agreed to install it on 5/7/24. The installation was completed and *** ****** stated that there is a manufacturer's lifetime product warranty and he agreed to complete any repairs under warranty. I had to exert much effort to get my product installed over 6 months after it was purchased and almost 2 months after I was told that it was in stock with multiple attempts to do so. The request for a refund was denied and I finally got the product installed.

Sorry he is still upset. The door has been installed for awhile and we can only install what is sent in when the company sends it. All these vendors are behind. They are having a hard time getting employees to work. He just does not understand.Initial Complaint

They installed windows in my house about 1.6 years ago.
- the windows were measured too big
- within 1 year of installation I called them about water in my walls and they came and did a terrible cauking job and made it worse.
- about 2 months ago, I called them because we discovered tons of water damage in our walls and mold in my kids bedrooms as a result of the windows not being installed correctly.
- their insurance company would not cover the replacement cost of the windows that need to be replaced and sized correctly. I also have to get mold remediation and all the drywall around my windows replaced. ***** said he would settle with me for $7,000 on the windows (I paid $6,900). He has only paid me $2,000 and keeps dragging this out and not paying me. This is extremely frustrating. Although the windows were installed 1.6 years ago; I feel BBB should get in volved because this has been an on going issue since then as mentioned above.Business Response

Complaint: ************* from Allied Aluminum has promised me a settlement/refund payment of $7,000. He said this would be paid by now, and keeps dragging this out. He has paid $3,000 to date, but said I would receive another payment last Friday. I did not receive a payment last Friday, and he did not contact me either. This problem drug out for months now.
I need payment of the remaining $4,000 asap. They have been in business for years. Surely they can get $4,000 from their business line of credit, so I can move on.

We are working with this guy. We offered to replace all his windows at no cost. He does not want to replace the bad windows only wants money back. He did not contact us for 15 years. He just wants money and all of this could have been taken care of if he had notified us 15 or even 10 yrs ago. Crazy!!! Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:This is an absolute lie. These windows were installed in December of 2021. I paid Allied Alluminum two personal checks (check# 1105 for a deposit of $2,900 in August of 2021 & check# 1111 for the balance of $4,000 dated 12/7/21). Also see attached the proposal and email from Allied Aluminum dated 8/13/21. I also contacted them in the summer of 2022 and they did a terrible caulking job that made the issue worse.
Why would I allow someone to replace my windows who did a terrible job the first time and also had an opportunity to fix the issue in the summer of 2022, but only made the problem worse.
They have promised to give me a refund and keep dragging it out. I cannot and will not listen to lies. I will take every measure to make sure this gets resovled. If not here, they will see my attorney in court. Unlike them, I actually keep my word.

On 6/21/2022, I wrote a $5,000 check as a downpayment on a patio enclosure. I was told the supplies took approximately 10 weeks after ordering them. I received a text from ***** ****** on 8/5 telling me the doors were in production. That is the last time I heard from him without reaching out several times before getting a response. On 8/31 I asked for a start date. I didn't get even an estimated date. On 9/15 I asked again, and was told they could do the installation on 10/3. (Note: At this point, *** ****** sent me some photos of a product we had discussed but I did not decide to go with. I believe this shows that the supplies had never even been ordered.) On 9/30, since I hadn't heard back from him, I asked if they were still going to get started on 10/3. He claimed that some of the material still had not been received, and he would get back with me on 10/3 with a new date. I did not hear from him. 10/4, I asked for a date for install, or a refund of my downpayment. He told me they would be here 10/18 at 9:00 a.m. No one showed up. I asked for a refund. He made more excuses and offered to set yet another date. I refused. He asked to come to my home to explain. I refused. I have had no contact since then, and still do not have my $5,000.Business Response

We wanted to reply to the above complaint. We contracted with her and ordered the materials needed to complete the job. Materials took longer than we were planning on. The deposit for the job was sent to the company to get the materials going. We have all the material for the job. We tried to talked to her several times about starting. She just said no. This is the first we have heard from her since then. We can give her the material and she can find someone to install it for her or we can install it. Please let us know. Thanks

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:*** ****** has proven that:
1. As recently as 9/15, he did not know what type of structure Allied was supposed to be installing for me, so it is unlikely that my downpayment had gone toward materials. See attachment ending in 225529 and 225544.2. There were 2 installation dates arranged, and two no-call, no-shows. That is grounds for termination in any industry. See attachments 225604, 225616, and 225628 .
This is not a company that has proven they will do nothing except set dates and cancel them, and not a company I can trust to do any work for me even if they did keep an appointment.

On February 27, 2023 we signed a contract for a deck cover and paid a $2,000 deposit. We needed additional information to satisfy our HOA which was very slow coming. Eventually we attained the information & the approval on 4/2/23. The salesman had stated that we could expect our cover in 4-5 weeks so we expected installation that week. Called & emailed him numerous times but got no response. After many messages he said the weather had slowed them down. Not that they were waiting for cover. Finally reached Donna in the office, a couple weeks later, who said the supplier was running behind, she could not provide an installation date. That was two weeks ago. Have called again this week looking for update but they are ignoring our calls & messages. When a company does not answer the phone during business hours you know you have made a mistake. When they don't return calls that mistake grows larger. Wish I had checked the BBB site before handing over the check, I never would have made this mistake. At this point I am ready to file a fraud charge and seek legal and criminal remedy since they do not appear to be honoring the contract. This company has been in business for years, relied upon that history as proof of their honesty. Clearly they have no plans for future business. After reading other reviews I am worried about the quality of the product that I may eventually receive.Business Response

We had a carport added to our house over an existing patio. We wanted a covering so we could sit outside in good and/or bad weather. The first heavy rain came and there is a leak. We called Allied, they sent a man to our home to fix the leak. The next heavy rain came a few days later, the leak is still there, called Allied, they sent a couple of men to our house to fix the leak. Another heavy rain and the leak is still there. Called Allied to speak to the owner and he finally came to our house to discuss problem. He says it is our roof that's causing the carport to leak. He sent a couple of men out again and this time they supposed to have replaced the material they originally used. Next rain comes, now there are two (2) leaks, the same leak is there and the new leak is dripping from our ceiling fan we installed. Called Allied again, the owner refused to answer our calls for a couple of days. I went on the roof to see if I could see where the problem was and saw some damaged shingles. I called our insurance carrier who sent an adjuster to check the roof, who found damaged shingles. We called the roofer who replaced our roof 9 years ago. The shingles were under warranty so the roof was replaced. Next rain came, carport is no longer leaking. We want Allied to repay us for the repair the roofer made to fix Allied's mistake when they put up the carport. We paid $7,275.00 for the carport and feel they should honor their work. The owner will no longer take our calls.Business Response
