Not too long ago I purchased one refrigerator, two washers, two dryers, and three dishwashers from AJS Gently Used Home Appliances, 1. The refrigerator purchased starting making a loud sound from the freezer a few days after plugging it in. 2. One of the washers did not drain at the end of the cycle and flooded both the first and second floor of my apartment building. 3. One of the dishwashers is not working at all. I discovered these issues on 1/29 Saturday. Since AJs is closed Sunday and Monday, I thought I could call on Tuesday. Most frustrating part is now the number on google is disconnected and no one there is reachable. I have tried calling them for the last three days and cannot get a response. They sold me broken appliances despite telling me the appliances were all inspected and working order; now they simply cannot be reached.AJ'S New & Gently Used Home Appliances Response

The customer had his employee come to the store to pick up the appliances. When he arrived at the store, he didn’t have a vehicle big enough to transport the appliances. I personally had his employee follow me to my house to pick up a utility trailer to haul transport the appliances. Before his employee, Collin, loaded the appliances himself, he did a full inspection of the appliances and verified that everything was good to go. Nooone from our store loaded the appliances as his employee said he didn’t need any help and that he was ok. All used appliances are sold as is without warranty. We are at our stores Tuesday-Saturday, 10am to 4 pm. Our store number is 5026905400zCustomer Response

I have been calling the number 502 690 5400 daily from Tuesday to Friday during your normal store hours. No one has been answering the phone and number has been disconnected. You did just say "All used appliances are sold as is without warranty" Buy appliances at this store at your own risk. You can visually inspect them to see if they have dents, but you have no way to tell if they work or notCustomer Response

I bought a washer/dryer from AJ's. When talking to them we made it very clear that we needed the washer dryer to be able to stack. They said these do stack you need a stacking kit you can get at any local hardware store. So we looked and couldnt find one for the particular model. So before we purchased we made it known that we couldnt find a stacking kit looking for some help on locating the proper one. Thats when Angela told us that she talked to her husband and this paticular model is meant to stack with no kit. Perfect we thought. We went ahead and had them installed. We used them one time and the dryer rocked so hard it almost fell off the washer. When i told them what happened they said they did not sell the stacking kits. I let them know I was aware of that but i wanted to know why they told me it was meant to stack with no kit. They had no answer they then sent me all over the xity looking for kits that they recomended that were never the correct one. Come to find out the set we needed was no longer made. When i asked if i could switch the washer dryer for a different one that we knew we could find the kit for and that we would happily pay any difference in price they said they had no more. When i asked for my money back since i could not stack them even though they told me that it was meant to stack with no kit. They hung up then her husband called me back a few minutes later being VERY aggressive saying i called his wife a liar and were going to handle this man to man. Then I heard his wife say something in the background turns out he thought i was another disgruntled customer. He then said he would come out and rig bracketts to the back of the washer from the hardware store if he couldnt find the right kit. They then try to send me to ***** for a kit that doesnt work. Then when i asked about him installing the brackets he said i would be required to pay for it. When i asked how much they just kept talking in corcles about how thwy dont sell the stacking kits until i got so frustrated i had to hangup. They lied and once they had my money they did absolutley nothing to help. For someone who sells used appliances they had no knowledge of the product that they sold and misled me into purchasing a product that i can not use!AJ'S New & Gently Used Home Appliances Response

I am formally entering a response to this complaint. The customer did not deal with me directly, she dealt with Angela whom is a partner in the business. The issue was over a stack kit that I guess Mr. ***** felt that he was supposed to get a free stack kit with the set he purchased. Now I personally spoke with Mr. ***** to see what the issue was and how I could resolve it. He informed me about the set he purchased and that he wanted it stacked and secured because he had a 1 year old and he did not feel safe with the set being stacked as it was. I personally told Mr. ***** that I completely understood. I told Mr. ***** that ****** sold the kit and that he could purchase the kit for $39.99. He told me that he went to ****** and they did not have the kit. He further told me that based on his research that they didn’t make the kit for the particular set they purchased. I contacted ****** myself on Dixie Highway and they had 9 stack kits in stock for the exact set that he purchased. I told Mr. ***** prior to calling ****** myself that I would contact GRP and speak with Matt and see if they had the kit. I told him if Matt had the kit that I would purchase it and install the kit for him. I further told him that if neither had the kit that I would go to the hardware store and purchase the stack brackets and install them for him. *** and ****** both have the stack kits in stock. ****** had 9 in stock and GRP has 17 in stock. I purchased the kit myself from ****** on 7-13-2021 and was to install them the next day. I personally have the stack kit still in the ****** bag with the receipt sitting on my desk. Now I’m not understanding the issue if I done everything down to the T as I said I would and I was going to install the kit free of charge. As I told Mr. ***** via the review that he placed on my website that he could either come in the store and now purchase the kit from me and install it himself or I could take the kit back to ****** and get a refund and that he could go to ****** or *** himself and purchase the kit. Either way, we done our job. This is my response to the complaint and I stand by it.
