CONSUMER ALERT: ONLINE SURVEY GIFT CARD SCAM.... KFC AND YUM! BRANDS ARE NOT INVOLVED IN ANY WAY WITH THIS ACTIVITY

BBB Serving Greater Kentucky and South Central Indiana has been advised of the following misuse of the KFC name and brand:  Consumers have reported that someone claiming to be from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) contacted them with an e-mail stating that if they completed a survey KFC- would send them a $100 dollar gift card. This involved a lengthy survey of about 30 questions with the first 4 questions being KFC related items. The next 20 to 30 questions were about different items and companies. Each group of 4 to 5 questions required entry of an e-mail address and a home address and phone #'s.  KFC logo and copyright symbols were displayed on the screen. Following the surveys the consumers have been contacted by telemarketers from the various different companies for whom they filled out the surveys.

KFC AND YUM! BRANDS ARE NOT INVOLVED IN ANY WAY WITH THIS ACTIVITY

If you are contacted by email regarding this survey please notify the FBI at www.ic3.gov The BBB will accept your complaint for tracking purposes but will not process it with KFC or YUM! Brands as they have no involvement with this activity. Please read the following statement from YUM! to BBB:

"This is not a KFC sponsored survey nor have we given them the rights to use our logos in the survey that was e-mailed out....  Our legal team is aware of this……. I believe they have sent this address an e-mail that has asked them to stop send surveys with KFC logo.  The e-mail is not from KFC, one customer stated the e-mail that is comes from is [email protected], which is not one of our vendors or internal surveys”.
